You don't know about the lack of reservoirs to collect and provide water to the state's people during dry years because the morons in Sacramento didn't build any due to their idiotic belief in a permanent California drought due to global warming ?? You haven't heard of our moronic governor going to El Salvador to help solve their poverty problems when California has the highest poverty rate of any state in the nation when the standard of living adjustment is made ??

California has become a post card state. It looks good from a distance but don't get too close. Open your eyes and do a little investigating into what is going on in your city and state. Wake up !!!

California has recently moved up to fifth largest economy globally. I lived in LA four years. It was very interesting and nice.

 

Why are the middle class moving out ??

 

Any populated center in the world has pockets of areas which are similar to those tent cities in LA, Sacramento Valley, San Francisco and other areas where homeless people, mentaly ill people and drug abusers congregate. I lived in Colorado Springs for three years in the early ‘90s and there was a large contingent of homeless encampments also. This was in a much smaller city with crappy weather which has been ruled by ultra conservatives for decades. I am certain that other such cities which are ruled by so called conservatives have similar problems. Your assertions that the problem of homelessness, untreated mental illness and drug abuse is a symptom of Democratic or liberal politicians is the usual bunch of crap churned out by the propaganda machines on AM radio, Fox News and internet outfits like Breitbart.

My newly elected congresswoman Katy Hill has been involved with “investigating into what is going on in our city and state” for decades and has actually been involved with creating programs to help these people find housing and access to mental health care. Guys like you who have been schooled in right wing propaganda for decades are trained to blame any kind of urban blight on opposition politicians are ignorant of what really causes these conditions and generally oppose any funding for programs designed to ease or eradicate these conditions.

That said, California IS a “postcard state” which is full of natural wonders, great agricultural development, at the forefront of technological development, has the best tourist attractions in desert, mountain and oceanfront resort towns and outdoor activities of all kinds. We have the best array of multicultural restaraunts, the best wine and an interesting, intelligent and diverse cosmopolitan population here. I have actually donated a lot of time and money to non profit organizations that are trying to do something about the problems that you and Sean Hannity sit and pontificate about and try to blame it on your political opponents. I never hear any ideas or solutions regarding these very real problems from people like you but rather finger pointing and condemnation.

 

It’s much worse now than it has ever been. These people should be screened and placed in mental health facilities or drug rehab programs. Those who are sane should be subject to the prevailing laws regarding public health, public sanitation, and living on the street.

Why hasn’t the respective government entities in California acted to do these things ???

There are not enough mental health facilities or drug rehab programs available at this point to facilitate these people. Public health laws and sanitation standards should be enforced. The number of people who are in this position has increased dramatically because of economic reasons in the past three decades. It is the result of the redistribution of wealth which has continually pushed more and more of the wealth away from lower and middle class people and into the hands of corporate tax cheats and bank swindling loan sharks who adamantly oppose any funding for the facilities you mentioned. Corporate welfare and socialism have been on the rise since the ‘80s. Trump’s bullshit tax break to the wealthiest Americans and corporate whores is a great example of what I am talking about.

Trump's tax cuts have benefited most who pay income taxes. The only ones adversely affected are those with many previous tax deductions like very high state and local income taxes.
