RNC resolution to ban paying Trump’s legal bills is ‘dead’

The Republican National Committee (RNC) failed to earn enough support from states to bring a resolution to ban paying former President Trump’s legal bills to a vote.

Henry Barbour, who serves as Mississippi’s national committeeman, confirmed to several news outlets that the resolutions he drafted that would have prohibited the committee from covering the former president’s growing legal bills is dead.

Trump was already diverting most of his PAC money to pay his astronomical legal fees.

Now, the people he's placed at the RNC will divert the party's money to him, too.

This will leave only crumbs for other GOP candidates around the country.

The 2024 campaign is already shaping up to be a financial disaster for the Conservatives.

 

Cool. When Trump wins in office he should use his dictator powers to tax registered democrat voters 5 dollars each a month to pay for the actions of their elected leaders and their political witch hunt.

Laura Trump being the co-chair is laughable on its face. She declared that she felt “all RNC funds should be spent on Trumps re-election campaign”, and that they “would pay his legal bills”. She walked back the second statement recently, but I will bet any amount of money that they do pay a significant portion, if not all of them.

This is outright grift. Apparently all the Republican Party needs is Donald Trump, and they dont need any congressional or senate seats, he can do it all by himself. Im sure we will see the righties supporting this, and I support you righties doing exactly that. PLEASE let him take all that money, and kill all the downballot races and see what he gets done….

Can't wait for a time when the other criminals realize all they have to do to get MAGA on their side is say bringing charges against them for crimes they have committed is a witch hunt. Or does that only work when you're Trump?

If Trump is using all of the RNC's funds, the downballot candidates will be outspent as well. This does not bode well for them.

Donors know that the money is going right into Trump’s pocket.

If Haley Barbour couldn’t prevent this theft, the GOP as a national party organization is headed for ruin. (At least financially).

This would have been a good time to move on from Trump.

But the lickspittles couldn’t summon up enough courage to do it.
