Ironically, Anderson was once on good political terms with Mitt Romney, the expected Republican nominee for president. Anderson worked closely with Romney while the latter was running the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City and endorsed Romney's successful candidacy later that year for governor of Massachusetts.
