I guess the MONEY guys think they can buy it this time?? Throw even more BILLIONS at it this time??

PARK CITY, Utah — The official topic of the conference, emblazoned on materials handed out to guests gathered here at a luxury Norwegian-inspired resort, was “The Future of American Leadership.”

But the unofficial theme was made clear not long into breakfast on Friday, when a guest asked Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky the question on everyone’s mind: Is Hillary beatable?

Leading lights of an anxious Republican establishment have journeyed to Utah’s Deer Valley this weekend for the third annual retreat organized by Mitt Romney, who has sought to transform the rump of his presidential campaign into a kingmaking force for his largely leaderless and divided party.

Part right-leaning “ideas festival” and part Romney political family reunion, the event featured early-morning yoga sessions, late-night cocktails, and a lecture on teamwork and fortitude by Peyton Manning, the Denver Broncos quarterback.

With military tensions escalating abroad — and just days after the unceremonious unseating of Representative Eric Cantor of Virginia, the House majority leader — a mix of old Republican blood (former Secretary of State George P. Shultz) and new (Mia Love, a Utah congressional candidate) gathered to diagnose the party’s difficulties.

“This is the place where I believe the future of the party is really going to come out of,” said Anthony Scaramucci, a New York hedge fund manager and former Romney fund-raising bundler. “This is the Republican Party’s Bell Labs. This is our R & D division.”

The weekend drew dozens of such men and women, most of them veterans of Mr. Romney’s formidable presidential finance team, which raised more money than any other in Republican history. In the donors’ wake came many of the party’s potential nominee

By the looks of our current situation....we are gonna need every damn cent, and it might not be enough.

Unless someone is awaiting in the wings I am unaware of, we have no one to seriously compete.

Isn't Soros the guy who's active in Hungarian politics, and only went big in one single US election? If that's the best "NO YUO!" they can find, they have no "NO YUO!" at all.

Actually, he is a CAUSE guy. BIG PICTURE stuff. World poverty and hunger and education. GAVE A CHUNK OF CHANGE to European colleges (or established scholarships--something along education lines).

this is all I read because I don't believe in polluting my mind with liberal ramblings.. .which these days only bores me to tears

anyone who votes for the lying, politically-ambitious, amoral Hillary is a big MORON

and I would rather have rich men running this country, rich Republicans that is, than racist non-Whites who HATE America

as per a recent thread of mine, Islamists have the highest birth rate and will take over soon by numbers alone. the pres seems to welcome such... because he is out of his mind, thinking that there is a way to appease these murdering so and sos...

Obama plays at a DC golf course (maybe 6 or 8 MILES away from the WH). One of my carpool buddies was a regular at it when I lived up there. (Actually might have been on the VA side).

In a way you cannot blame them; here is a party which is literally floundering in the political waters with no means of righting the ship in any viable position. If they do nothing, they'll become irrelevant in national elections and this is something they are desperately trying to avoid.

If they are able to unify the party and become the party they were 50 years ago, then they would be a formidable party to be reckoned with. Time will only tell.

George Soros, spent $26 million of his own money trying to defeat George W. Bush in 2004. He didn’t succeed.

The KOCH Bros. publically stated they would spend up to $500,000,000 in the 2012 election cycle. I have NO idea
what their final total was. I have no idea how much of that was DEVOTED to Romney winning. I was psych major not
a math major, but $26mil. compared to a half billion--what is that factor?? About 18 - 19 times more?? Okay, since
there are 2 BROTHERS, we'll halve that for the purposes of 'argument'. So thats ONLY 10 x more than Soros!!

Romney is trying to have role in choosing the next GOP candidate. So long as he's the type of conservative you all want, I wouldn't worry.
