Note there is no requirement that defense can only be made on the US mainland.

More lies and falsehoods? You've already proven hero worship based on your own definition of the term. I get it.

The best opinion on Foreign policy? It should be based in logic not opinion.

Allies? Thomas Jefferson said it best "peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none.". So Thomas Jefferson is on Ron Paul's side...who the hell supports the current police the world foreign policy other than uneducated Americans?

Rofl...I suppose a logical argument would be nonsensical to the likes of the Fox news Neo-Cons. The boogey men that your ilk are afraid of seems to change with the direction of the wind.

    A. Start a pre-emptive war with Iran to suppress their aspirations for nuclear power.
    B. Do nothing.

I agree with Ron Paul and strategy B in this scenario. Let the cards (and bombs) fall where they will.

National Defense.... Not defend Israel "at all costs" like many politicians clamor for. Or bombing countries like Libya to oust a dictator to install a new dictator. Sorry our bombs countries to hell and back to "save the people" doesnt work. Tell the people that have dead kids from our bombs that we are there to "spread freedom".

One of these days you will figure out how stupid it all is.

When you cant debate something you seem to fall back to the "hero" worship bs. I know its strange concept in America now but some people actually *gasp* respect the people they vote for and value their principals. Instead you have people voting for the "lesser evil".

So to you voting for someone you agree with is "Hero worship"

    Truly deluded.

My life, my way of thinking doesn't revolve around the military, or war. that is entirely true.

I do not veliece that centering your lifr on imaginary threats, or preparing for "potnential but unlikely worse'" at the cost of today's realities is conqtructive or healthy.

Yet, my uncle died as an officer in WWII, my husband was in the Navy for 12 years, and my son is a former Marine, so I am very aware of our military'courage WHEN NEEDED.

I am, however, very glad that many people in this country and myself included, are past the childish "GI Joe" stage.

the biggest threat to the US in particular, but to most countries in general, is not being defeated in a war, it is falling back economically and failing its people through unchecked spending that favor big business, ESPECIALLY big DEFENSE business!

I was not a supporter of the Iraq war, nor Libya, so I can help you take down that strawman early, before you get too attached to it.

Against Israel, though, they are on the front lines of the war between the West and Islamofascism, which is a cause I do think we should be involved in, because it affects us, whether or not people are knowledgeable enough to realize it.

Not really. Ron Paul fanatics share many qualities with cult followers, and even the Chinese and their Mao worship. The other poster said that it would be hero worship if he was using lies and falsehoods to support Ron Paul, and that is exactly what he was doing. So by his definition, it's hero worship.

You know it's hero worship because Ron Paul isn't allowed to be criticized and questioned. Look at the reaction from Paul and his supporters concerning the recent stories about his old newsletters. Paul got pissed at Hannity this week for bringing it up, even though Hannity has brought up every story against every other candidate so far. It's either talk about it now with conservatives, or talk about it once he's the nominee and liberals bring it up with their billion dollar propaganda machine. Which would you prefer?

Nor does mine, however when I try to make a point about the military, I try to make sure it's factually accurate. Your initial post about military bases shows a fundamental lack of understanding on the subject you were addressing. Falling back on "my life doesn't revolve around the military" is probably going to be a lot more work than just admitting you were wrong and moving on.

This is written very poorly, and I'm having trouble understanding the point you are trying to make. Please revise.

They deserve our respect for their service. That respect doesn't automatically translate to you, and doesn't make your opinion supreme, however, if that is what you are trying to do here.

60's hippies used to dance around with flowers and talk about how we never ever had to go to war again. They were wrong, just like their modern day equivalents are wrong. I agree we need to be a lot more selective in the battles we fight, but to take war off the table completely unless the US mainland is attacked or threatened, that's just wrong. By Ron Paul's standards, if Hitler didn't declare war on the US after Pearl Harbor, we would have never confronted him. He would have taken all of Europe, and by the time he was strong enough to attack the US mainland, there would have been no stopping him.

Recent news about the newsletters? He was asked nonstop about them LAST election. Of course he is tired of talking about them. They are a non issue. If you were not so in a rush to call people cultists you would have know that the newletters have been brought up a ton in the past. So to hide your ignorance you bring up Mao? Who was responsible for killing millions of his own people! Disgusting! Ignorance is not an excuse.

So, because Paul answered questions last election, he's excused from answering those questions now? Seriously? Romney had to answer a lot of questions about Romneycare last election, and he has been asked about it thousands of times now, 4 years later. I don't see him throwing tantrums and getting pissed at Hannity when the story gets brought up. Ron Paul and his supporters believe, for some reason, that Paul is too special to go through the same process that everyone else has had to go through. Welcome to reality.

He has been answering the same questions since then. How many times does he need to answer the same questions? From the SAME people. They are all trying to catch him in a 2 second ahah! moment. So they have a sound clip to play over and over again.

The man isnt a racist. But it seems like the only way to attack him. So they bring up the same crap over and over and over again.

Romneycare is something that should be brought up as its something Romney actually supported. And most do not like Obamacare. No one should have to face 3 years of being called a racist. Its bull(*)(*)(*)(*).

Its what you have been doing for awhile. Enough with the Ron Paul is racist bull(*)(*)(*)(*). When you are saying the same things that dujac has been trolling about you would think it would waken you up.

You are to good of a poster to resort to trolling and posting the same bull(*)(*)(*)(*).

So has Romney. Hannity had to ask him the same question dozens of times this year throughout the campaign process. Romney never got offended by it.

I didn't say he was a racist. However, since every other candidate so far has had to answer uncomfortable questions about their past, I expect Ron Paul to do the same. It's not reasonable to assume that he had no idea what was written in those newsletters, or who wrote them. He obviously knows who wrote it, and if he didn't know what was being written, he needs to explain how those ideas ended up in his own newsletter without his knowledge. He hasn't given a logical explanation as of yet. Either answer it now, or answer it when Obama's minions come knocking.

The narrative against Romney is that Romneycare was a precursor to Obamacare, and he has done reasonably well at explaining why it's not even close to being the same thing. Yet, the narrative lives on.

Ron Paul has unfairly accused Santorum and Bachmann of "hating Muslims", so he is just as guilty of bull(*)(*)(*)(*) accusations as anyone else.

    Homer_Simpson,

Its easy to see why you want to continue bombing, spying, and meddling in other countries' business. That's your business. And like any good businessman you want to make sure you're a commodity.

The Cold War was fought underground, and maybe that's what we need to be doing. We did not send our troops in to overthrow the USSR. Russians did it on their own. Why are we now so determined to bomb people into submission? If these idiots want to live under the thumb of Islam that is their problem that they wished on themselves.

If Europe wants to slowly be taken over by immigrant Jihadist, well, that sucks, but they shouldn't be so (*)(*)(*)(*) blind. Apparently, they learned nothing from WWII. Maybe its Darwinism at work. If they aren't willing to protect themselves, that's not our burden.

We need to stop spending a trillion dollars(which make your entitlements look like a drop in the bucket) on foreign aid, foreign defense, and aggression on countries that are so backwards its laughable that they represent a threat to us. You're going to have a real hard time convincing educated people Iran is a threat. Then again, no one has ever accused American voters as being overly bright.

All we are doing is increasing the price of oil, and causing even more ill will towards us. How has this Iraq or Afghanistan experiment gone for us? Not so well.

The Israelis are very successful people. If they want to move to the US I'm sure we have room for them. However, its unfair to ask the US to protect them whilst Europe is their land neighbor. Europe needs to wake the hell up, and we need to stop being their nanny.
