When the Welfare rolls are filled with more and more unwanted kids after abortion is banned who will pay for them? The tooth fairy?

    No, taxpayers.

I live in FL. In our last gubernatorial election, every single D Gov candidate (except one) made banning "assault weapons" their #1 campaign issue. They all lost. (The one who didn't used "my daddy was governor 100 years ago" as her primary campaign issue. That didn't work either.)

Perhaps you didn't fully read my post. I believe that once the right case hits the right court Roe will be locked in for good.

    http://skepticsannotatedbible.com/says_about/abortion.html

The 10th does NOT give states the ability to deny anyone their federally protected rights.

Not really since RvW did deal with the modern concept of pregnancy post quickening.

One of the reasons that Congress never wrote any further laws was because RvW covered all the bases.

The US population is not going extinct! It is still growing and that will continue.

The demographic mix is changing and that is NOT a cause for concern either. Immigrants assimilate and their kids are as American as everyone else.

The argument about "coarsening attitudes" is a misnomer. Society evolves, period. There are clay tablets from prebiblical times of old people bemoaning the fact that young people were not sticking to the old traditions.

What we have today is just DIFFERENT to what we had before.

The GREED OBSESSED corporate business model DESTROYED the concept of a family with a SINGLE bread winner. Nowadays it is a struggle to survive with TWO full time working parents. Note that no one is demanding that corporations go back to paying living wages with benefits. Instead they are blaming the "breakdown of society" on irrelevancies like abortion. The NEED for abortion would DROP if hardworking Americans were to be paid living wages again. No one would cite the reason that they cannot afford another child.

So what you are referring to are essentially disingenuous allegations by those opposed to women's rights by the misuse of societal factors that have nothing whatsoever to do with the availability of abortion. There are a great many of those and all can be debunked since they are all based upon fallacies.

There is a difference between a WANTED and an UNWANTED pregnancy. In the latter the fetus is not provided with any protection by the woman carrying it.

However when it comes to a WANTED pregnancy the women concerned is essentially SHARING her right to life with her fetus. If the fetus is in the 3rd trimester then I would support 2 murder charges in this scenario only since the fetus is viable.

That is my own personal opinion and does not reflect how the Law of the Land stands on this matter.

I predict it (the new anti-abortion statutes) will be reviewed by the Supreme Court. They will be held unconstitutional in whole or in part, on the basis of Roe. The court will split 6-3, with some Republican appointees, maybe Kavanaugh and Roberts, voting with the liberals.

Perhaps you didn't read my post and the one of yours before that?

You stated "" My taxes are way too high as it is"".

    I responded:
"""When the Welfare rolls are filled with more and more unwanted kids after abortion is banned who will pay for them? The tooth fairy?

    No, taxpayers"""

................referring to YOUR statement that your taxes were already high enough.

And I note you didn't answer my question : When the Welfare rolls are filled with more and more unwanted kids after abortion is banned who will pay for them?

All this, after someone may be 'forced into slavery' of carrying the pregnancy to term, I think you may be overstating the situation'. Once those who do use abortion as a convenience, no longer have the convenience, mayhap they will discover contraceptives? After all, no one wants to be a 'slave'......

OK, you don't want to talk about the taxes YOU brought up.

NO, banning abortion does not stop abortion any more than Prohibition stopped drinking ( or the rich profiting off of it).

NO, I am not "overstating" the fact that when one's right to one's own body is taken away (banning abortion) they are slaves.

NO one is obligated to use birth control.....again , that's that bodily autonomy thing Anti-Choicers hate to see women having...

To FORCE someone to go through the following is assault, cruel and unusual punishment that even murderers don't have to go through and treats getting pregnant as a crime:

Normal, frequent or expectable temporary side effects of pregnancy:

    • exhaustion (weariness common from first weeks)
    • altered appetite and senses of taste and smell
    • nausea and vomiting (50% of women, first trimester)
    • heartburn and indigestion
    • constipation
    • weight gain
    • dizziness and light-headedness
    • bloating, swelling, fluid retention
    • hemmorhoids
    • abdominal cramps
    • yeast infections
    • congested, bloody nose
    • acne and mild skin disorders
    • skin discoloration (chloasma, face and abdomen)
    • mild to severe backache and strain
    • increased headaches
    • difficulty sleeping, and discomfort while sleeping
    • increased urination and incontinence
    • bleeding gums
    • pica
    • breast pain and discharge
    • swelling of joints, leg cramps, joint paininfection including from serious and potentially fatal disease
(pregnant women are immune suppressed compared with non-pregnant women, and are more susceptible to fungal and certain other diseases)
    • extreme pain on delivery
    • hormonal mood changes, including normal post-partum depression
    • continued post-partum exhaustion and recovery period (exacerbated if a c-section -- major surgery -- is required, sometimes taking up to a full year to fully recover)
Normal, expectable, or frequent PERMANENT side effects of pregnancy:

    • stretch marks (worse in younger women)
    • loose skin
    • permanent weight gain or redistribution
    • abdominal and vaginal muscle weakness
    • pelvic floor disorder (occurring in as many as 35% of middle-aged former child-bearers and 50% of elderly former child-bearers, associated with urinary and rectal incontinence, discomfort and reduced quality of life -- aka prolapsed utuerus, the malady sometimes badly fixed by the transvaginal mesh)
    • changes to breasts
    • increased foot size
    • varicose veins
    • scarring from episiotomy or c-section
    • other permanent aesthetic changes to the body (all of these are downplayed by women, because the culture values youth and beauty)
    • increased proclivity for hemmorhoids
    • loss of dental and bone calcium (cavities and osteoporosis)
    • higher lifetime risk of developing Altzheimer's
    • newer research indicates microchimeric cells, other bi-directional exchanges of DNA, chromosomes, and other bodily material between fetus and mother (including with "unrelated" gestational surrogates)
    Occasional complications and side effects:

    • complications of episiotomy
    • spousal/partner abuse
    • hyperemesis gravidarum
    • temporary and permanent injury to back
    • severe scarring requiring later surgery
      (especially after additional pregnancies)
    • dropped (prolapsed) uterus (especially after additional pregnancies, and other pelvic floor weaknesses -- 11% of women, including cystocele, rectocele, and enterocele)
    • pre-eclampsia (edema and hypertension, the most common complication of pregnancy, associated with eclampsia, and affecting 7 - 10% of pregnancies)
    • eclampsia (convulsions, coma during pregnancy or labor, high risk of death)
    • gestational diabetes
    • placenta previa
    • anemia (which can be life-threatening)
    • thrombocytopenic purpura
    • severe cramping
    • embolism (blood clots)
    • medical disability requiring full bed rest (frequently ordered during part of many pregnancies varying from days to months for health of either mother or baby)
    • diastasis recti, also torn abdominal muscles
    • mitral valve stenosis (most common cardiac complication)
    • serious infection and disease (e.g. increased risk of tuberculosis)
    • hormonal imbalance
    • ectopic pregnancy (risk of death)
    • broken bones (ribcage, "tail bone")
    • hemorrhage and
    • numerous other complications of delivery
    • refractory gastroesophageal reflux disease
    • aggravation of pre-pregnancy diseases and conditions (e.g. epilepsy is present in .5% of pregnant women, and the pregnancy alters drug metabolism and treatment prospects all the while it increases the number and frequency of seizures)
    • severe post-partum depression and psychosis
    • research now indicates a possible link between ovarian cancer and female fertility treatments, including "egg harvesting" from infertile women and donors
    • research also now indicates correlations between lower breast cancer survival rates and proximity in time to onset of cancer of last pregnancy
    • research also indicates a correlation between having six or more pregnancies and a risk of coronary and cardiovascular disease
    Less common (but serious) complications:

    • peripartum cardiomyopathy
    • cardiopulmonary arrest
    • magnesium toxicity
    • severe hypoxemia/acidosis
    • massive embolism
    • increased intracranial pressure, brainstem infarction
    • molar pregnancy, gestational trophoblastic disease
      (like a pregnancy-induced cancer)
    • malignant arrhythmia
    • circulatory collapse
    • placental abruption
    • obstetric fistula
    More permanent side effects:

    • future infertility
    • permanent disability
    • death.

    Edited by me for bulk.

I'm not avoiding the tax aspect, that question has been asked and answered.

Yes, you are grossly overstating the 'slavery' statement. Pregnancy is a possible consequence of having unprotected sex. Touch a hot stove, and you will also have a consequence. Stick your hand in the sugar bowl, you will have a hand full of sugar. A consequence of your action. It's a rather simple concept.

Your statements, including but not limited to the slavery statement, and the one above: "NO one is obligated to use birth control" is an interesting conflict. You seek actions with no consequences. Let me put a couple more out there for you.

Consumption of alcohol. Drug use. Driving a vehicle. Sky diving. All are activities made by CHOICE, as is sex. Getting drunk. Addiction. Accidents. Messy accidents. Every single one of those activities have possible consequences. Most sane people take precautions so the bad consequences don't happen.

If the sex is voluntary, you either take precautions, or face the consequences. As I have said before, I cannot make choices for other people. Abort a couple of dozen fetuses if you wish, but carrying a fetus to term is not slavery, it is a result of the choices made.

that is a truely out dated t
That is a bad anology. Try this:

A father and his newborn baby and his 5 year old child land in the water during a flood and he can save only one. Who does he choose? Probably the 5 year old...the one he has a relationship with. Does that mean we can kill newborns at will?

Yes, it is ...why should it be a crime?

So risk burning your hand ends your right to medical attention for that hand?

WHY do YOU get to dictate what the consequences are??

If you climb a mountain, that is risking injury...so mountain climbing is a crime and if you're injured your right to medical care is taken away?

What! ? You have consistently stated that other people have to face the consequences that are determined by YOU !!!

Being FORCED like an animal to gestate IS slavery....having the right to one's own body taken away IS slavery...do you really think slavery is simply having to pick cotton?????

I am not dental floss, and the answer was already given, but I will repeat it for those who have poor recall: We already pay to support others, via taxation.

I haven't called it a crime. Why do you think it's a crime?

Think of the word self inflicted....

Jump out of an airplane without a fully functioning parachute, and you will discover the possible consequences. I don't dictate them. The laws of gravity and nature do.

See response above. I have not related any of these actions, nor sex, as a crime. You consistently put it forth as an inconvenience, to with you have now relationship to the consequence. I believe they call that 'disconnection'.

You've used that phrase before, at it's as lame now, as it was before.

Which WILL increase to help pay for the increase in poor kids on Welfare :)
I don't think abortion is a crime but those who want to ban abortion think getting pregnant is a crime because they want to punish women who get pregnant byt FORCING them to gestate.

So if you burn your own hand you lose the right to medical care?

Getting pregnant should not be compared to suicide.

I see you think that if someone buys a car, always a RISK, and that car turns out to be a lemon, they should be FORCED to keep that car forever (because they took that RISK) and suffer all financial setbacks and possible physical injury, maybe even death, because they HAVE to pay the consequences for taking a risk.

    that is asinine.

"""Being FORCED like an animal to gestate IS slavery....having the right to one's own body taken away IS slavery...do you really think slavery is simply having to pick cotton?????"""

But yet you can't state why it's wrong :)

And thus you continue the cycle... huh? You make it the responsibility of the state to cover your bad mistakes, people will take you up on it.
