Fighting is about dirt, camo, hardship, sweat and improvisation. Military parase is about shinies, fixation, superficiality and show.
There is nothing more remove from the real meaning of military, than military parades.
And yes, I respect fighters a lot. I know the cost.

I disagree but not being a Liberal, I still respect an opposing point of few. Happy Sunday,

Fragile things, the Russian superweapons. I mean, sure, it's a hard landing, but you don't expect it to just buckle and break apart.

What else would you expect if you understand that this is not a digital model but a heavy (tens of tons) machine hitting the ground too strong to call it 'landing'? It's physics. With such a speed and heavy snow the pilots obviously didn't see the land. The plane is mostly made of aluminum and however durable kind of aluminum it is - it's still aluminum and what I see is quite natural. Their most mistake was the decision to land in such circumstances.

I guess we can all breathe a sigh of relief. Time to get back to the table of diplomacy.

What happened when the russkies got hold of Crimea?

That’s right, Obama gave the russkies a great run for their money.

My friend, who’s been teasing whom?

Russian military efficiency is quite clear. According to opinion of may and many western politicians (most of them are already out of their offices) should have left. But he managed to restore most part of Syria integrity under his rule. 100% of Syria will definetely return to Bashar, but it will require time. Russia didn't have agreements and had only war with ISIS, which is defeated. As for Israel and Turkey Russia has diplomatic agreements and russian policy is not a policy of a brute. Israel really used several chances to strike and run. These strikes didn't affect the real policy. They only ruined the agreement with Russia and after that Israel fighters are not seen in skies of Lebanon (used to attack syrian territory). Whatever you say and laugh but Russia is a formidable force in world policy. As China, USA and combined forces of EU (if they succeed in the future). As for other states like SA, Israel, Turkey Iran - they are big players near their borders. But they are not anywhere near the leading world countries... As for your country it is less influential in its own territory then Assad in Syria. Which is not good, but this is the way it is.

    My friend,

Hurricanes have indeed flew over Moscow, and the Russian pilots were not overly impressed by them
