LOL....things must be sucking bad in Krym since the illegal annexation by Moskolian vatniks that economic activity needs to be classified. Bad water, inflated prices for everything, lack of press/individual freedoms, crappy tourism, shutting down Ukranian/Tatar schools, one big military dump is what it's turned into.

They’ll deplete all water in underground aquifers and will turn Crimea into a desert. It will happen in matter of years.

Ukrainian President Zelensky hopes for mutual understanding with Putin

    http://www.uawire.org/ukrainian-president-zelensky-hopes-for-mutual-understanding-with-putin#

I hope the poor guy doesn't really believe that he could ever reach a "mutual understanding" with Putin. He's had American administrations hoping in vain for that very thing for what will be 20 years come August.

As for Crimea, it will be up to the people of Crimea to shake off the Moskaly yoke and return to the free west. This may never happen, however, with Putin's propaganda machine hard at work. It's about the only thing the KGB man's regime does well (because it's cheap and doesn't rely on too much high technology or engineering).

I think Ze understands he can't reason with the Asiatic dwarf. It's just good optics. The only language mongrel Putinka understands is a club to the head. Asiatic Russkis understand a crack to the head....they demand it .

He cracked enough jokes at Putin during his shows to demonstrate that he understands the Pootin is a liar.

Not that I know of. And I think to understand most of their jokes you really need to understand daily life of an average Ukrainian.

Litwin reborn - half the stuff you mentioned does not relate to economic activity - and your article does not back up anything you say.

The US " do as we say not as we do" policy opened the door to such things - when they annexed Kosovo. Now the US is promoting piracy in the case of the Brits seizing the Iranian vessel - setting more bad precedent.

So when China arbitrarily puts sanctions on Taiwan - what do we say when they start seizing Taiwanese ships "Do as we say not as we do"?.

Another culture and ethnicity obliterated and replaced by the Russians. Well, they have a new airport in return.
I miss the slayer of Russian trolls. He totally dismembered garbage pro-Russian propaganda in ways I cannot do it. He also entertained me a lot during my lurker years on PF.

From I suppose he was Lithuanian so had a lot of experience with Russian 'style'. He was speaking from prejudice yeah but mostly based on his life experience, what's passed from generation to generation and so on. He had a personal vendetta against Russians and I certainly don't blame him.
One side of my family is just like him in attitude. You must realize that this attitude is very common in eastern Europe and it's not the effect of some propaganda machine against them.

We just happen to know better than you Americans because we have first hand experience and you just imagine or base your opinions on some 1 month trip to Russia, but not on lands with people that had interacted with them for generations.

While some attributes are common to all kind of occupiers or empires some are not, there is something despicable with how they operate and words do not suffice.

Don't take this is a fact, it's just personal opinion.

Yep, when your history is full of oppression from Russians and then when they sneak in at the weakest moment and steal a piece of land - that kind of tends to give you a bad taste in your mouth when you are reminded of Russians.
Not a whole lot of people like them in Eastern Europe.

PS: I grew up in Russian speaking family in Ukraine and in school we were always taught that Russians cannot be trusted. I always thought it was a paranoid nationalist BS. Then, years later, came 2014 and oh boy, was I proven wrong. Many of my Russian speaking friends in Ukraine literally started speaking Ukrainian in everyday life - that’s how much they hated what russia did.

Some attributes are common to all empires and occupations.
    But
I dislike them for the fact that they distroy and replace cultures and ethnicities.
Russification is not a made up word but a reality.

They blame the victim card of ww2 when they have operated their whole history like that and after ww2.

I just come back from a trip from Europe's poorest country: Moldova. It's such a weird place, especially since my mom's lineage is Romanian Moldavian.
While my romanian is rusty, I could speak and interact with alot of locals. They have such twisted minds and full of propaganda, its unbelievable. Same on the TV channels.
They were brainwashed to the max, besides replaced.( alot is directed against romanians, no wonder)

About the replacement, they have national grievance day called 'The Trains of Pain' where a huge number of locals, expecially inteligensia were deported and were replaced with russians.
Currently, there are whole pockets of russians scattered throughout the country to make the union unreleasable.
Their language was altered but they actually believe they speak Moldovian. Incredible. I asked citizens, how come? Why do you think people in Transylvania, Wallachia, Banat, Dobrogea, Bucovina speak your language? The explanations were fascinating.
Their dear historical leader Stephan the Great, whom they venerate: I asked them why is it buried in Putna, Romania. Why his sword and belongings are in display at the Neamt Monastery, in Romania. I asked why the 4 historical capitals of Moldova are all in Romania. Fascinating answers.

In the middle of Chisinau, there is a huge monument: For the glory of the Red Army, which liberated these lands from Germano-Fascist occupation(ofc, translation in Russian besides).
I asked locals, when did Germany occupy Basarabia? WW2. They actually believe this ****. Quickly they forgot Romania send 1 million soldiers to liberate its territory from USSR annexation 2 years earlier, not Germany. They pushed all the way to Stalingrad, my grandparent included. For every 4 germans, there was a romanian alongside.

The list is too long, but they have completely destroyed that place, people included in less than 100 years.

I have so many examples besides Moldova of russian propaganda, russification, cultural and ethnicity replacement that the PF database will run out of space.

Of course I expect a Ukrainian to be a little butthurt about the truth of the economy of Crimea under Russian rule. Facts are facts.

I hear all this whining about Russian occupation.....if your countries were so great then you wouldn't have got your asses over run by the NAZIS in the first place. You could be speaking German now. Germany would have never released the CIS countries....Russia did....so consider yourself lucky. Or continue to bitch about it....it's like the American way. Every complaint you have should be directed at Germany.

And if you are from Western Ukraine, I think the Poles would like to speak to you about occupation. Or should they just get over it?

Moldova is some weird vatnik creation..never was Russki territory....annexed like was said by SU....locals deported, and replaced by Russkis....same as in East Ukraine during Holodomor.

Yeah...and some of those battles and liberations pushed by the Russkis is delusional BS....but these peoples were brainwashed to the max.

"Great Patriotic War" .....is one of those cruel lies like "arbeit Macht frei" that was written above Nazi death camps. There really wasn't anything ...patriotic about it....afaic.

Just like this "transdnistra".....another mythical existence created by parashka, rusnia delusionists. No one recognizes the damn thing....the inhabitants speak some weird dialects of Russki, Ukranian, mixed with Romanian. It's future is questionable...probably limited, and has no legal basis to exist.

LOL....Germany overran parashka rusnia. You needed American help to push them back. :))).

It's not whining about terrorashka occupation, it's true.

Russia released them?....Yeah, it had no choice , not by their own choice. They were defeated in Astan, bankrupt culture, economically destitute, that RF itself would've broke apart into a dozen pieces...:)).

Where's your pics cowboy? Now you're from Texas again? Last week you claimed to know every location of all exotic car dealerships in Moscow? Where's your next locations? Metro Dade, Bronx, Fulton county, Nawleans, South Halstead in Chitown, whorehouse in Hamburg's Reeperbahn?

I have the same attitude - my wife is Romanian - as are many of my friends. Nasty things were done by the Russian's and the stories passed down from grandparents and parents still live. To be honest - although I have met some good fellows who are Russian - my experience in general with Russians has not left me with a pleasant general opinion.

That said - if we are talking geopolitics - I am all about logic and reason - not ad hom fallacy and mindless gibberish which often comes out when there is too much partisanship of any kind.

I dont want to nitpick but I recall a discussion with you about your wife being Serbian. Maybe it is the ex wife. You have my full attention because I like your posts but I may be mistaken. Anyways, I am totally offtopic:D
I agree with your post and try to keep myself in the same position as you describe.
I also share your experience with russians but there is something disturbing about their state, and their politicians dont come out of thin air, they are the product of their society.
