Maybe, Ukraine should look into the way some Africans were prevented from fighting during numerous recent wars - just hack the hands off of a Russian soldier on the spot, with no anesthesia. Save precious resources on treatment and imprisonment.
Mariupol is proof that you can’t be nice with Russians as they have absolutely no problem with starving and carpet bombing a surrounded city with no way out for the civilians.
The more gruesome Ukrainians become, the more horrified Russians will be at home and will do everything in their power to avoid being sent there.

I actually think Ukrainian fighters have the absolute right to become as gruesome as they please. Their enemy never tells the truth and uses international norms and laws only to their advantage, while ignoring them altogether when these things don’t suit their needs.
