Seems from Zolote, its confirmed collapsed. I am talking about the twin cities, I don't think they have withdrawn completely from those and the road out seems under fire control by the Russians. The ones that remain there might not have the opportunity to withdraw for very long.

They have not even fully evacuated the Severodonetsk industrial zone.

Kind of token - just 4? Its expecting a lot out of the system considering the size of the front line.

Correct. Zolote collapsing and even Ukrainian advisors expect the cities to be cut off new as reported in the link I had. Reports the road out is already under fire control, they could not have done that until Zolote collapsed.

well....that depends on where they're used and how they're used....they're designed to be used in conjunction with other assets so wait and see. Uke commanders aren't stupid so they they're not going to let them just potter off into the wild blue yonder and pootle around looking for gainful employment.

yeah....the villages of Zolote and Hirske were taken last night after a Uke tactical withdrawal to Lysychansk. The main road from Bakhmut to Siversk and the minor road to Lysychansk are still open so at the moment they have good lines so not really expecting much more at the moment.

This is a time of wearing the Russians down and building capacity to help even out the David v. Goliath situation. The Ukrainians are making the Russians pay dearly for their gains, but victory, if one is achievable, is a long way away at this rate.

Of course, the Russians doing something really stupid over the situation with Kaliningrad could change this in a hurry..

Reports all over twitter from both sides that the Russians pushed all the way to Vovchoyarivka after the collapse at Zolote. It gives them fire control over the road to Lysychansk so they still have a line but its not exactly safe. We will see soon what kind of defenses were in place and where those troops withdrew, maybe the refinery next to Vovchoyarivka?

Also Russia is said to be at the far south of Lysychansk city proper on the west side of the river.

sure...they'll put in a good run at it it's one of Putin's objectives so there's a lot of firepower being brought to bear.
The T1302 is under threat at the moment, trouble is that although the ukes are withdrawing under artillery barrages the Russians are lacking troops in number and quality so any assault on the cities will be a real meat grinder. Uke forces are well dug in and well supplied Russians...well... are as usual having the issues of numbers and moral....be an interesting fight

What I picked up from foreign sites is that Zelensky is a bad poker player, since he keeps throwing good money after bad. Whenever the Ukrainians are in a desperate strait and they ask him if they could retreat, he refuses to allow it so they could hold on to the territory. In the meantime he tries to reinforce them and he ends up causing even more losses.

This is what's leading to the mega casualties which makes the Ukrainians refuse to obey orders and so they surrender. Frankly I find what he's doing evil and reminiscent of Adolph Hitler who knew Germany had lost the war and yet he kept sending children to fight.

So instead of having a concern towards their lives, he saw the Germans as having failed him and therefore they deserved to die. Anyway to me he was possessed, which makes me wonder where Zalensky is coming from?

Russia will be sending in reservists to take over in the territories they freed from Kiev. Since most inhabitants there have a Russian national identity, they won't have to deal with a hostile population.

Not that there won't be incidents, but the local inhabitants will be helping the troops - as they have been doing in pinpointing Ukrainian military installations.

Good analysis Jean. Manstein wrote that Hitler couldn't understand strategic withdrawal to launch counter attacks. He just wanted to hold territory like you said.

Much like investing, your troops are your capital. Once you lose significant portions you can't generate relative profit.

Putin doesn't give a **** if Boris wants to de-mine Ukie ports. Even Putin offered to de-mine the ports. Zelensky the shitbag is the one that doesn't want the ports de-mined. Zelensky is why grain can't be shipped from Black Sea ports. On the other hand, grain is being shipped from Russian ports in the Azov Sea. When I say Russian ports, those are the former ports of the nazis.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

It appears that the Russians have zero problems with the Ukrainians exporting their grain. All Ukrainians need to do is clear up the mess they created in the Black Sea exposing to danger everyone.

Putin Claims Russia Will ‘Guarantee’ Peaceful Export Of Ukrainian Grain

    https://www.rferl.org/a/russia-ukraine-war-grain/31882556.html

Russian President Vladimir Putin denied accusations his armed forces are blocking Ukrainian grain exports from the Black Sea and said his government would “guarantee" peaceful passage to ships leaving Ukraine's ports.

In an interview with Russian state television on June 3, Putin tried to put the blame on Ukraine for the trapped grain, saying Kyiv has mined the Black Sea and sunk vessels, preventing grain ships from leaving.

Ukraine carried out those steps after Russia launched a massive, unprovoked invasion by land and air on February 24, sparking fears it could seek to use its navy to storm the key Black Sea port of Odesa.

“I have already told all our colleagues many times: let them clear the mines and let the ships loaded with grain leave the ports. We guarantee their peaceful passage into international waters without any problems," Putin said.

The Russian president said his armed forces would not use the removal of mines “to launch any attacks [on Ukraine] from the sea.”

Putin’s comments came after he met with Senegal's President Macky Sall, who is also the current head of the African Union, to discuss surging food prices.

Listen, nobody, including Russia, gives a :icon_shithappens: if 'Ukraine' joins the EU. Nobody. If the EU wants to adopt a nazi engrained welfare state, then so be it. But they won't in my lifetime because, assuming, Ukraine still exists after this war, it's a shithole that will never be anything other than a shithole.

If the EU/UK/US keeps sending weapons, there won't be a 'ukraine' left. This is fact.

The EU will lead the reconstruction work in Russia after the catastrophe that will follow the collapse of the Pootster regime. Russians will be grateful for EU charity.

Some folks say the darndest things I tell ya.... these Pooter fantasies .. Reconstruction of what mate - the war is in Ukraine .. not in Mother Russia .. who will do just fine when your beloved Vlad is gone .. worry not about the people in Russia .. the world is a busy place and Russia has what the busy world needs.. Sanctions a dismal failure .. and this will end soon ... business as Usual will return .. the only difference being that Russia will have a little more territory .. expanded the empire a titch..
