It all depends on who the attacker is. In short, I believe that whoever the agressor nation is, that country will loose. Russia has a smaller military then China. But the land in Siberia is so horrible, they can afford to trade terrain for time all day long. And eventually the Chinese would be taking so many losses from the countryside, and would be so overextended, that Russia could wrap them in a nice little pocket and then sit back and let General Winter destroy them. If Russia invaded China, China could largely do the same thing. Pull back, and let them get extended. Then step on their crank with a million man human wave, and utterly destroy everything in their path. Neither nation along that region has very good land for attack. But excellent land for defense.
