Humor and satire, I know. I enjoyed it. One familiar with the dynamics of firearm production can't help but marvel at the simplicity and reliability of the AK platform and the cross-compatability of the parts. Nato weapons are going the way of modular adaptability. Russian weapons are so cheap to manufacture that they don't need to. Most of the weapons on the left cost about as much to manufacture individually as all the weapons on the right cost together. Russia manages to maintain one of the largest militaries in the world despite having a GDP no greater than France by, in part, manufacturing its own weapons and streamlining designs to make the cost cheap, with only a marginal reduction in quality. Also by using a lot of antiquated equipment that looks tough only on paper (most of their mighty tank force are Soviet leftovers, for example).
