As I recall, France is already having a problem with dwindling demographics and population. Encouraging subsequent generations to consider "gay marriage" as sanctioned and OK, has those drawbacks of reduced population.

And don't look for that to be made up by gay couples [and possibly normal marriages] being able to adopt from Russia..

The ban on [all, hetero and gay] American adoptions was put in place just as the clamor for SCOTUS to do a sweeping pass of gay marriage was rolling into full gear.

We are all going to take a hit for this obvious dementia. Men are not women and women are not men. Exaggeration of what you think is the opposite gender's media-portrayed sterotypes does not make you the opposite gender. And anyone who falls in love with you while you grotesquely play-act the opposite gender is not gay themselves. Why are they falling in love with attributes of the opposite gender and then calling themselves "gay"?

These and many many other obvious red flags of mental instability are undoubtedly why Russia is not allowing these people access to children and an opportunity to pass on the social contagion to another generation.

Russia also has a population reduction it's trying to turn around. Modeling homosexuality as normal through marriage is going to accelerate those dwindling numbers big time.

Well it isn't theoretical. Now it's factual. Until the amendment is "formally" passed in Russia, there will be a moratorium imposed against gay adoptions.

And here I thought that Russia was progressive.

Oh well, plenty of other nations allow same-sex couples to adopt children in need of parents. I'm sure that the Ruskies will catch up with the rest of the world.

Muslims and catholic countries are against gay adoptions also. So "the rest of the world" includes a handful of unthinking, kneejerk politically correct morons who will live to rue the day they hastily passed so-called "gay marriage" without considering what "gay" really is and what it's genesis means for future generations. ie: the number of gays who report having been molested as kids and that number being an "epidemic" in that demographic... The Russians are smart people. Maybe it's as simple as they have read the Mayo Clinic and CDC information below and aren't as stupid as retarded chimps...ie: they can put 2 + 2 together to = 4...
The Russians read the above and with regards to adopting out their vulnerable orphans to gays said..."uh...yeah....hmmmmm....NYET!"

    Gay on the Brain

Anyone who has followed the issue of Russia banning American adoptions knows exactly why it was done.

And of course 'Gay' has nothing to do with it except for those who just see
"Gay" everywhere(seriously where is the thread claiming Gays are to blame for Tornado's?)

A new Russian survey finds that 56 percent support the ban and 21 percent oppose, a ratio of almost three-to-one. The support seems to stem from a belief that American families are dangerous, cruel, and at times violent to their adoptive Russian children. More than half of respondents who want to ban American adoptions cite either hostile American families or the fact that some adopted Russians have died in the U.S. A much smaller number say that Russian children would be best served by keeping them in their home country. A still-smaller minority, about 10 percent of those who support the ban, say that U.S. families want to adopt Russian children for free labor or to sell their organs. A number of Russians also say that Americans like to adopt from Russia because the Russian adoption system is cheaper and less cumbersome, although in fact the Russian adoption process is both expensive (about $50,000 per child, maybe twice the rate in China) and burdened by new regulations imposed in 2006

In Russia, Harrison is known first as a Russian orphan, born to the name Dima Yakovlev, who was killed by his stereotypically negligent American adoptive parents. His death sparked such outrage that, years later, the Russian legislature named its adoption-banning bill the Dima Yakovlev Act.

Yep, I've got gay on the brain. And I will have too, until society takes a good detailed look at just exactly what "gay" is, where it comes from [born that way vs learned] and how social learning affects future generations via which icons we hold out to our youth to aspire to...

Gay on the brain? You bet. Take it out of the mainstream and pushing it on kids and you won't hear another word about "gay' from me.. I promise.

I guess Russia has gay on the brain too. So much so that not just gay but ALL Americans are forbidden from adopting their orphans. Thanks gays! [And that won't be the last fall we all collectively take for the Gay Agenda. Why just since gays have gotten successes in gay marriage in several states, there's been a sudden and drastic 34% increase in boys ages 13-29 getting HIV from trying out the new "cool icon" of sodomy]...

Did you miss the part about Russia banning all gay marriages from adopting from any country?

Do you think the US is the one exception to that rule and that that rule was passed against the US just after it was announced the Supreme Court was entertaining dismantling federal DOMA statues here that might effectively legitimize gay marriage across the 50 states, or at least be a nice shoehorn for attorneys to get that done?

I'm sure it's just a coincidence, the timing...

And that has no apparent- well to anyone but you- connection to the United States.

Putin, who has embraced the Russian Orthodox Church as a moral authority and harnessed its influence as a source of political support, has championed socially conservative values during a new term he started in May 2012.

He said in April that a French law allowing same-sex marriage went against Russian values
    .

Personally, I think Russia- as a sovereign nation, can be as repressive as they want. I am always amused by when Russia adopts any anti-homosexual regulation and people tout Russia as a great model for morality......Russia- really?

    Meanwhile...

Gay marriage and thereby, access to vulnerable children is at issue. I've always known about people who are homosexuals. And I've never felt compelled to speak out either for or against them in a public venue. But never have they asked that their "open" behavior be allowed to access children. Since I know my friend became homosexual by being molested, I know gay is learned. Then I read that there's an epidemic of gays who were molested as kids. Then I read that one of the main predictors in what is called the "abused-abuser" syndrome in the Mayo Clinic and in law enforcement is a perpetrator who was himself molested as a child.

And I learned how to do basic reasoning in Jr. High.

So, like Russia, I'm against gays having access to vulnerable adoptable children. Yes it's profiling. And it's profiling based on a behavior [not a race or religion] that tells us to "watch out around children" with "these types of people doing these types of things".

The rule of thumb in any government is to err on the side of children in unknown or unproven situations. That's what the one Justice of the Supreme Court meant during the DOMA/Prop 8 hearings this year when he said that none of us know how this experiment of gay marriage will work out, with regards to our social wellbeing. [paraphrased].

Russia [and the hundreds of thousands marching in protest in France] wish to err on the side of caution when it comes to their children. I think that's a sane and healthy policy. Gay advocates feel that children are not at all part of the marriage discussion. Therein lies the loggerhead.

The ban on Americans adopting Russian orphans works fine for the Mayor. The US should ban all international adoptions until there are no US citizen babies needing to be adopted here.

Well that's another topic really but certainly an idea worth entertaining from a humanitarian standpoint at home. And if the looney neocons want to force every pregnancy to term, or to keep youngsters from birth control [force every pregnancy to term], they're going to have to start building a lot of orphanages for all those babies who will be abandoned or neglected or abused or simply starved into orphanhood.

Who knew all it took to gain support for Russia was for them to discriminate against a group in which people don't similarly hate.
