Russia's military considers any nuclear threat possible, the country’s Chief of General Staff Nikolay Makarov revealed to RT’s Spotlight program.

Asked whether Moscow admits there is a growing atomic threat from Iran and North Korea, the General said that
    "The threat is always there.”

No doubt if nuclear weapons fall into the hands of extremists, it will seriously compromise international security, so any scenario is possible if certain countries do acquire nuclear capability,” Makarov admitted.

"We conducted a joint assessment with our US counterparts, which proved that this threat is a realistic one,”
    the General acknowledged.

“The very fact that we agreed to produce a joint anti-missile system implies that we recognize that the threat is there.”

“What we say is, that we should work together to counter these threats,”
    Makarov concluded.

Moscow has always advocated countries’ right to develop a peaceful nuclear program under strict international control. But the US insists that in the case of Iran, the country’s nuclear ambitions are a threat to neighbors and the world.

I hope he is right and Iran will make the right choice. Russian concerns are valid though, given that they are Iran's staunchest allies and have intimate knowledge of Iran's nuclear program, don't you think?

I am afraid you got it all backward. If he is right, it's because the US and the rest of the world are ratcheting up the threats. It's the crippling sanctions and the credible threat of military attack that's preventing Iran from developing nukes... If of course Gantz is right.

Iran will be attacked precisely because it poses no threat.

If Iran has a plan its this: They know Obama is a pushover and will not act, close to the election they will agree to all the terms. Obama will claim victory in Iran and get re-elected.

After the election, Iran will kick out the inspectors again and finally finish up development on their nukes.

Obama will do nothing and we now have a nuclear Iran.

    Thanks BoBo
