When reviewing a facially neutral law for discrimination, you review for both the discriminatory intent and the discriminatory effect. Here, we don't have to analyze the discriminatory effect because Trump has repeatedly and explicitly made it clear that this travel ban was based on a discriminatory intent.

Normally, the politician attempting to pass a discriminatory law or regulation is smart enough to at least give the public appearance that they are not attempting to pass a discriminatory law or regulation. Trump was too short sighted and now he is paying the price.

I watched this objectively. She held her own, but to say that she demolished Cruz is a gross mischaracterization.

It was a good question answer and Ms. Yates did a good job explaining the basis for her actions. That Liberals take every interaction as being win-lose is explained by the fact that they are almost never right about anything. It explains why when they lose a debate or an election they lower the dialog to breaking windows and burning down buildings. Ms. Yates is an intelligent woman. If she didn't walk away thinking she had won the interaction, she would likely have reached down into her Liberal inner self and thrown a temper tantrum.
