There are million children are involved in child labour because of poverty. UNCEF promised to give these children free education and of course One of the UN goal is to reduce poverty. But why is many children are working in Samsung or Apple etc. In my opinion UNCEF or other orgainzations cant never reduce poverty. Samsung and Apple and other get richer and poor children getting poorer. Thanks to UNCEF and goverments
I don't know about Samsung, but the Apple issue has been investigated to death with only minor violations (minimum age for employment is eighteen). All the western companies that I know about require their Chinese suppliers to follow age regulations, environment standards, and lead free (actually RoHS). Are manufacturing jobs in China on par with similar jobs in the US, no. But, the pay is higher, and work easier, than in the rural village most of the employees come from (been there, saw that). Chinese laborers have fought for, and received, pay raises and better working conditions.
