Bernie says don't count him out in 2024, he'll only be 83 on Inauguration Day. He's just a year older than Biden.

“While it’s frustrating this private memo leaked to the media, the central fact remains true, which is that Senator Sanders is the most popular officeholder in the country,” said Sanders spokesman Mike Casca, when asked for comment. Casca and the memo based that assertion on a recent poll.

By the time Biden gets finished with his term anyone would look better than him. Even Father Time.

If Sanders is that popular then why are all the conservatives acting as if Trump, an regenerate paleocon if ever one existed, is the 2nd coming of Alexander Hamilton?

Please let the political gods provide us the option of one actual Democrat as major opposition to the presumptive nominee! I am tired of being put in this position.

Funny. Sanders is the only major player who's even older than Biden!

Personally, I have no problem with a 60 year old President, even 65 or 70 might be okay in some cases, but as we have found out, when someone is older than that, mental decline can begin.

This is not just an ordinary job. The President has a huge amount of responsibilities. Anyone who fills that position needs to have a lot of mental energy. It is a job that takes a lot out of people. A lot of Presidents entered that position and then left with obviously graying hair because of all the stress.

I don't blame him for thinking of running again. (Actually, for the Democratic Party making him run again.)

You see, he still has a bunch of starry-eyed people in the Democratic Party who don't like the Democratic Elites and think that Sanders is the answer. The Elites will let Sanders run for a while and then they make their deal with him, he drops out and he sells them his supporter data base. This data base is a list of all the people who support Sanders...especially with money. When Sanders drops out, he gives his support to whoever the Elites tell him to and the Bernie-bots dutifully shift their support. Then the Chosen One wins the Democratic Primary and Sanders buys a new home. (He has three of them, now.)

So hey, why should he let something like age stop him from keeping a good thing going?

Trump is the only one who didn't. He didn't age, we did.

Mental decline can begin in anyone at any age, or quite often it can never begin at all.

It remained hidden for over 200 years, but Alex cooked the books. He also tried to undermine the foreign policy of the USA while working in the Washington administration.

One of the things in history that drives me nuts is just how much Washington knew when he kicked his ass to the curb.

Any chance Harris can kill Trump in a duel?

A better question is if Trump was so bad, why do the Democrats think he is such a threat?? Clearly the ailment of being unable to recover from Trump comes from fear.

Had the DNC been smart, they would have let Bernie run for president. On the other hand, clearly Bernie doesn't care about being president. If he did, he wouldn't have allowed himself to be cheated so easily. He cares about his ideology.

I think that as well as cheating Bernie, the DNC also made him a sweet deal. All in all, 'an offer he can't refuse'.

Democrats think Trump is a threat because he quite clearly sees losing the election as just step 1 in seizing power. Step 2 is the war

Nobody cheated Bernie but Bernie, he could have won handily if he'd just been a real politician

Trump is like Hamilton. He made influential friends that took him to a high rank, developed a political movement, divided his own party, committed adultery and said things that made people very mad.
If only his career could end the same way and take a disgusting person with him.

If Burr and Hamilton had both stayed active in politics another 20 years Andrew Jackson would have killed both of them.

Inauguration day? He just runs he does not care if he wins. Running and getting his ass kissed is all that matters.

The order is wrong. He committed adultery long before he ever ran for president.

He was 10X the president Biden could ever be. I will never, ever vote for anybody who touts an ideology that America is a bad country and 75% of the people who live here are oppressed victims. Trump is a far superior alternative to that.

Agree. That is why I do not think Trump should run in 2024. Trump would be 78 1/2 at inauguration time. We do not need presidents who are declining in ability while in office.

I don’t think Trump will run.
I think he will use his leverage to rebuild the republican party. He has made progress with blacks and hispanics, even though the media has kept it secret. Nearly every class of people has been hurt by Biden’s policies.
However, I do think the hispanic vote is fickle. I believe they are closet socialists. Blacks just want a fair shake and be able to afford to move away from troublesome areas.

    Trump as speaker:
As sharp as Trump is, that may be a mountain too high due to too many parliamentary procedures foreign to people with a background in a functioning society.

Sander's time is over. With the COVID inflation we're having now, electing a socialist is not going to fly.

To run against a man like Trump at a time like this, we need a level-headed moderate with maturity and the capability to know where he is and what his own name is at all times.

Good lord, are we going to to have anyone less than 100 years old to vote for? We're beginning to look like the old Soviet Union with our ossified /ruling class

Bernie may be popular -- and certainly his faculties are more intact than Biden - but don't think the folks want an 83 year old this time round.
