Did you know that you can easily see certain man-made satellites with the naked eye? Shortly before sunrise or after sunset, you can often see a satellite somewhere if the sky is clear and you know where and when to look. During that time, the sun is illuminating those objects above earth's athmosphere, while the sky is still in the dark.

There is a lot of satellite tracking software available. I used the ISS detector (http://issdetector.com) app for my android phone. Its free version keeps track of the Iridium constellation of communications satellites and the ISS.

I used to star gaze with a bottle of Jack and take a shot every time I saw a satellite...Got drunk more than a few times doing this.
