Well, the Seahawks are now set to host the New Orleans Saints, in a rematch from about a month ago. That game was actually a rout; the Saints did not come marching in, to phrase it as charitably as possible. However, it remains uncertain if the rematch will be similar. I would favor the Seahawks somewhat--the home-field advantage is fairly substantial; and it may be even more so in Seattle, where the hometown crowd can be exceptionally boisterous--but I would expect this rematch to be much closer than the initial encounter between these two NFL teams.
I agree. It always scares me when a team gets blown out and there's a rematch. Hopefully, the hawks can get past this one
I agree. The 49ers seem to be peaking but I doubt they will get by Carolina on their field and then the Seahawks on their home turf. As much as I love SF I have to believe that Seattle is even better. Squeaking by a mediocre Green Bay team does not fill one with confidence.
I was rooting for the 49ers against Green Bay. Don't get me wrong, I don't like the 49ers, but I think a Seahawks 49ers game in the playoffs would be an awsome game. There's so much animosity between the two teams, and there's so much at stake in the playoffs, it would be an awsome game.
Well....they were great players. I think though with the salary cap it really allows a better account of the truly great players. AboveAlpha
Agreed. A Seattle/San Francisco divisional title match would be the real Super Bowl. I don't see anyone from the AFC as a real threat.
I don't think that's what he/she means I think what he/she means is Seattle and San Francisco are the best teams in the playoffs and whoever wins that game is going to win the super bowl
and again I state, if the Seahawks do in fact make it through to the SB, the game is not in Seattle. I'm a fan of Pete Carrol but without home field, the Hawks won't beat any of the remaining 4 AFC teams
it all depends on whether or not Rob Ryan can figure out how to defend against a QB who runs. If the Saints can limit Wilson to 2-3 carries and under 20 yards then they will win. If Wilson breaks free, it's over for the Saints. Personally, I like the new crop of running QB's as it adds spark to the game and will force defenses to become quicker.
What about the team that beat them both during the regular season, and is on fire atm? - - - Updated - - - In my part of Cali we call them the SeaHags.
Cause this will be a short lived thread once my Saints take care of them. But don't feel bad y'all have the best uniforms.
The Seahucks have already been beaten by Arizona of all teams, so you are defeatable. And Drew Brees and Sean Payton will be the duo that will do it. Now that they know what to expect up there, I'm not worried. The seahawks run to the super bowl will end on Saturday. If it flies, it dies. Go Saints.
I don't necessarily have anything against Rob Ryan although I dislike his brother....but I will say Rob Ryan did kind of make a fool of both Himself and his Defense when he thought they would win against the Patriots and he should know not to be celebrating with his players on the sideline when playing against Tom Brady and the Patriots with any amount of time left on the clock.
