Too bad they didn't push harder on this during the Bush administration. The Bush-haters of then are the Obama-syncophants of today, and the Bush-syncophants of 2005 are the Obama-haters today, and the government just grows and grows and grows.

Obama is there so he can push the Socialist/Communist envelope without fear of impeachment. It will never happen for fear of race riots.

Impeachment proceedings against Bush & Cheney and all the neocons should have been inacted as the second twin tower was collapsing.

Prove that Bush was doing the exact same thing in 2005 that Obama is doing today. I don't believe you can.

Can you explain why? Can you cite actual historical documentation as to their responsibility? I realize that you prefer not to put any thought into your posts, but if you are going to make such a ludicrous and childish assertion that, as usual, in no way relates to the topic being discussed, you really should be ready to back it up with some compelling reasoning and evidence. Or are you capable of nothing more than silly throwaway one-liners?

Oh, remind us again which spy agency provided Bush and the neocons with the *Bin Laden Deterimed to Attack in the U.S.* memo ?

Where is old Babs?.....there have been a number of Democrat elites expressing disgust and disappointment over this, and I can't find her name anywhere among them...

after such inquiries in 2005, you'd think she'd be front and center.

You are starting to turn boring, exotix. Bush blah blah Bush blah blah. I hated him, too, but it didn't turn me into a partisan kneejerk.

No but Bush pretty much invented Libertarians and Tea Partiers and Paulies after he destroyed (neo)-conservatism ... who pretty much hijacked what independents are really supposed to be ... yeah too bad having an (R) before it doesn't fool anybody ..

Bin Laden, the man that was offered to Bill Clinton on more than one occasion, but who was too busy chasing fat girls around the oval office to actually do his job? Is that the Bin Laden you are referring to?

At any rate, Bin Laden wanting to attack the US is an awfully broad warning. Should Bush have ordered all domestic flights to be canceled indefinitely and put the entire country on some sort of lock down (perhaps martial law), because Bin Laden had indicated that he was determined to attack the US, when at the time, nobody was thinking that an attack would come in the form that it did?

I thought the reason Clinton took his eye off the Bin Laden ball was because neocons were impeaching him for lying about a BJ ... yeah same thing they're trying to do with Obama ...

So you don't fool anyone ... Bush is still laughing that it's all Obama/Dems fault.

    actually
    1. We knew they were collecting something like this, there was a story in 2006: http://yahoo.usatoday.com/news/washington/2006-05-10-nsa_x.htm
    2. Whiltleblower is a word that has a meaning. It is releasing secrets of illegal activity....this was not technically illegal
    3. Datamining like this goes back at least to the 70s
    4. The details that were recently release have to do with practice and how it works and that is what helps terrorists.

wow can we now talk about it in terms of reality.

I'm speaking of this specific program which is what JP5 is referring to in order to make the point that we cannot know exactly how deep the illegalities go unless people risk all to tell us or, in the case of MK Ultra, janitors retrieve things out of the garbage.

I knew you would be incapable of supporting your initial assertion with anything remotely resembling evidence or logic. Attempting to divert attention away from your ludicrous post simply doesn't change the fact that you made an assertion that you are simply not capable of supporting.

Totally BS since I was a libertarian before Bush. Why don't you just find a new troll methodology?

Did you ever notice that even other liberals on this forum don't like your posts? They cringe every time you post because they don't want people associating them with you.

    1. It was promised it would not be used this way... and wasn't. We didn't even have the capability to do what we are doing back then. That's what the UDC is for.
    2. Violating the 4th amendment is not legal. We also do not know how much illegal activity was deemed so by the secret court... cause it is secret and its findings confidential. There is no path out of that box.
    3. No, it doesn't. That is not at ALL what we did in the 70s, 80s, or 90s. The legal framework around what we are doing began with the patriot act, then was broadened in 2008. We didn't have the legal authority to collect ALL THIS DATA... which is why MONTHS ago Clapper was before congress LYING, saying we still weren't. Wyden KNEW what was going on because he had clearance, but also could not divulge that... so he tried to corner him as best he could legally, and did. He provided him the question before the hearing... and gave him an opportunity to revise his statement afterword. Clapper flat lied.
    4. How the practice works? "The USA spies on pretty much everything." How does this "aid" the enemy? If anything this makes them afraid of the ONLY tool that makes their organization work... considering its failures... this is actually the only positive thing to come out here.

No I think I'm gonna stick around and watch todays conservative sects come unglued ... yeah especially concerning domestic spying ... conservatives don't know if they're for it or against it ... meanwhile Obama moves ahead on the pre-determined congressional bi-partisan Domestic & International path as the invention of Bush and the neocons ... on terrorist-cells plotting
