I've said it before... no problem with saying it again...

Trump should fix his own f*ck*ng mess... Reverse Zero Tolerance immediately, then let Congress (try) and do their jobs..

There is absolutely ZERO defense for this humanitarian atrocity.

We oppose this kind of crime when it is found in other countries.

    Amen.

And, that "fix" has to address the full problem he's caused.

That is, it has to include reuniting the families, ensuring that children don't face the immigration courts alone, where even 5 year olds are required to make claims of asylum, where the threats they face may be known only to the parents who are not allowed to be present.

It has to include immediate disclosure of prison sites and must allow humanitarian organizations to visit freely. And, we need to know what the conditions are - WE are the ones funding this operation and have every right to be informed.

Then you can actually show where Obama enforced this policy at the level Trump is ? Oh wait, he didn't and you know that.

Trump actually changed the POLICY to enforce the separation in every case. Trump did so to force the dems to the table. He DID use this as a bargaining chip to get the wall.

You are obviously one of those crazy lefties on here... with that list of radical commie ideas... :)

For those that are still learning WTF is going on in this country, this seems like a good summary from somebody with some immigration credentials

The wall is IN the spending bill.

The Dems have said they want this as a "clean bill" meaning they want it as a stand alone bill. Trump and the repubs want to add it to the spending bill that has the wall in it !

I think the Cruz bill is essentially a "clean bill", but it has that asylum escalation clause to 14 days, which some are saying is unreasonable for a decision of this level... But it's really not a terrible effort from Rafael....

Trump has already indicated he doesn't like the Cruz bill anyway...

I'm still not finding valid reasons why R's are not supporting the Feinstein bill...

    The cheese stands alone...

No way.... Trump never loses.... have you learned nothing over the past 515 (or so) days??

    1. Trump creates mess
    2. Divided Congress fumbles around
    3. Trump fixes his own mess
    4. Trump claims undeserved credit
    5. Rinse and Repeat...

It would be a truly HORRIBLE precedent for America to accept the creation of an humanitarian atrocity as a legitimate political methodology for making legislation.

Our legislature simply can not accept this kind of deal.

Trump created this atrocity. He now needs to reverse it, along with providing the many remediations necessary to address the damage.

The problem with that is that their is a 20 day limit on holding the kids in detention centers according to the 1997 law, so the alternative under previous administrations has been "catch and release" when the system is overwhelmed in numbers and the hearings can't occur quickly enough. Complicating this is the asylum claims, which take even longer. So the current options are keep letting them go and then the vast majority don't show up for their scheduled hearings but are now inside the U.S. and almost impossible to get rid of, or jail the parents and put the kids in these care type facilities, OR change the law and allow parents and children to be detained together WITHOUT the artificial deadline on how long kids can be detained WITH their parents.

I have no problem with the kids remaining with their parents, but I have a BIG problem with catch and release. It's on the parents.....if you bring your kids here, it should be understood that going thru the system is going to take however long it takes, and you are all detained until then. No more catch and release.

Trump got liberals across the country begging him to change immigration policy, and he trashed Barty Hussein's catch and release.

Trump played the left....so much so, that the dumber of the bunch think they won something.

Holy **** kid what part of THERE ARE 2 DIFFERENT BILLS do you not understand? For ****s sake we aren’t even talking about a spending bill. I just have you a link to the stand alone bill Ted Cruz introduced yesterday that ONLY ADDRESSES this issue. Nothing else. No wall. Period. Get that through your alt left head.

You are falling for fake news. The bill has nothing to do with the wall. Why is the alt left so obsessed with lies and alternate reality?

I have seen it floated twice that we outfit people awaiting asylum hearings with more ankle monitors instead of detention... I.E. a 21st century solution.

How does that float your boat?? I think it's a great solution...

Notice that once again you coward out and refuse t address the majority of the topic. As pathetic as usual. But at least you finally admit the Cruz bill is clean.

And So your solution to the problem is to just let them all go right? Release them into the general public? Open borders too of course?

Democrats have already declared they will not support it. They’d rather “go after trump then help dirty brown people.” As Chuck Schumer said.

That's pretty good for sure but does it also address those working for cash who are on entitlements and not paying taxes?

It seems after listening to Sen. Schumer and many other Democrats that they want President Trump to be more like Obama where Congress doesn't legislate and the President bypasses Congress and legislates from the White House using a pen and a phone.

The way it use to work before 2009, Congress legislated and the President enforced the legislation that was passed by Congress.

I think what has happened is that the Democrats and a few RINO's are in shock that President Trump is upholding the oath of office and is enforcing the laws that were passed by Congress.
