Been watching this thing on the live stream. Bunch of BS so far. They have spent over a half hour talking and playing videos -_- about the stupid Watch.
Now they're on to the new iPhone X s. What's their major focus? The first thing they talk about? The finish. The colors it comes in. It was the same with the Watch.. They're in the bling business now. All image and perception, all BS. Sheesh. Meanwhile, the Mac still languishes, especially at the consumer level (it's increasingly aimed at "pro" markets in terms of updated internals and pricing, yet with externally impractical and non-upgradable, non-reparable hardware designs). Who cares about what colors the next Watch, its stupid bands, and the iPhone come in?
Now a fella from Bethesda is on stage to show off a Skyrim-style Elder Scrolls game on the new iPhone. Damn it. Apple really wants their iJunk to replace the Mac. They really do.
Now they're going on about environmental friendliness. They actively try to prevent people from repairing or upgrading their junk hardware, but they get up there and preach about environmental friendliness. The speaker just mentioned building long-lasting hardware, yet the Mac often fails to live up to that. But, that's right - they don't care about the Mac. They want it to die and go away as soon as possible.
iPhone users had better like the X's notch, because it looks like the iPhone 8 is getting that same ridiculous design. iPhone X r. It comes in lots of ugly colors, too.
These videos they play... just These events have devolved so far into pure marketing. It's more infomercial than product announcement.
Apple announces 3 new iPhones, a new watch, not much else https://money.cnn.com/2018/09/12/technology/apple-event-2018-recap/index.html Good headline, at least. Not much else indeed. RIP Mac, at least as a consumer grade machine. Apple just doesn't care anymore. They want to push MaxiPads and the like these days.
