I have not read this thread (way too long), but I have answered this question in other forums...so, here goes the answer I've used elsewhere:

I would be willing to accept the existence of a god...if the god sent an unambiguous message to every media outlet in the world that at on a particular day...at a particular hour...it would remove the planet Jupiter from our Solar system...and then on a particular day (about a week later)...at a particular hour...it would return the planet to its regular orbit position.

Dangerous stuff...Jupiter does all sorts of essential things for our system. (Perhaps the return day should only be a day or so later, but I would want scientists to have time to assure us that the planet is gone.)

But I would accept anything that could do that as a god.

I doubt very seriously if I would accept that god as the kind that would want to be adored, loved, or worshiped...and I doubt I would do an of those things...but I certainly would be in awe of its abilities.
