When fake news stories make real news stories the American public lose. When alt-this or alt-that pushes false narratives into the mainstream the American public lose, again.

Put away your Twitter feed and your Facebook page. Tune out the viral YouTubes. Turn to sources who name their sources and who correct their mistakes instead of burying them on page six. Turn to sources who openly advertise their ideology and look for consistency in how they present their version of the news.

Don't just rely on the headlines--read the whole article. Sometimes a disreputable site will score a scoop and sometimes a reputable site will get a story wrong.
