    Simple question.

Isreal is our biggest ally, and the only true democracy in the middle east. There is no question about this.

As such, should we be willing to overlook, and indeed support any action Isreal takes against any other arab nation? Should we look at it as an "us vrs them" mentality, in which, Isreal has a blank check to carry out military operations with our blessings?

Neither is America. :) NO country is a "true" democracy, nor likely ever will be. a "true" democracy is simply mob rule.

The United States should support Israel so long as it furthers American interests.

If Israel acts in a unilateral way that damages the U.S., then I don't think that the U.S. should mindlessly support Israel in an action like that.

Personally, I would be for reducing aid to Israel by $1 million dollars for each unit of housing built in new settlements in the West Bank.

But in general I think we should support Israel, but I don't think we should ever do so with a blank check.

Way to nit pick something super small and unimportant. PAL.

    - - - Updated - - -

Many people believe that any thing that Isreal does that harms an arab country or citizns militarily or financially, DOES further American interests.

Seriously? I mean, your gonna say calling a country a democracy is an error? I sure hope you point this same error out to people who say America is a democracy?

Personally, I think your just being a troll for no good reason. You knew EXACTLY what was meant, but just decided to nitpick the crap out of it.

That sir. makes you a big giant green hairy troll. Go back under your bridge IMO.

Biggest in what sense? I think Saudi Arabia does more for us economically. By far. They also seem to be terribly loyal, and we to them.

Possibly. Bu I would bet money that if we had to pick one or the other, it would overwelmingly be Isreal. Simply because they are not arabs.

I don't think our government picks its allies by ethnicity. They like regimes that will prop us up economically.

We the west dont care it a nation is a democracy. Its just superficial rhetorics. We do business with China, Saudi.. even Sadam Hussein was a buddy until he attacked Kuweit.

We rather make a quick buck instead of having a clear conscious. With that in mind... Israel is not our best friend.. we make more money from other countries, while Israel costs a (*)(*)(*)(*) load of American taxes.

That's the funny thing about Israel. I'm thinking they may be considered a long-term investment of some kind in that region. Maybe they have even proven useful in ways we (or at least, I) don't presently realise.

When they've actually done anything then ask me again.

They haven't done anything that anyone without either an anti-Semitic or Palestinian apologist would be remotely concerned about.

If some Palestinian gets killed during a raid by Israel against Hamas lauching rockets, the anti-Israel crowd will scream atrocity, yet hundreds of people including women and children in Africa are raped or killed on a daily basis, and they never bother to mention that.

Their agenda is hatred for Israel, or Jews as a whole, nothing more.

Personally I would conciser Canada, the U.K. and Japan to be more of an ally to the USA than Israel. And who in their right mind would give Israel a blank check to do whatever they want other than extreme Islamophobes?

Of course Israel is a true democracy, and streets ahead of its neighbours in this regard.Neigbours that could learnt a lot about democracy from Israel. But is its democracy perfect,of course not.No democracy is perfect, because governments are run by people, and people are never prefect, and especially for a democracy surrounded by countries run by thugs that are hell bent on destroying the only true democracy in the ME.

You need to buy a new dictionary. True democracy tend to treat rich like (*)(*)(*)(*) by stealing all their money and giving it to the poor people. Masses treat minorities like (*)(*)(*)(*) in true democracies.
