One thing few vegans mention is that you have to schedule in about 2 more hours a day for eating and (*)(*)(*)(*)ting. The great advantage of meat is that it's much more nutrition for much less effort by the body in ingesting, digesting and eliminating the larger quantities you have to consume to get the same amount of energy. An average vegan eats at least 5 meals a day and moves his bowels about the same. He also is loggy after meals for from 30 to 90 minutes. This varies from person to person, of couse, and some may not even notice it, or even see an overall improvement, but that is usually someone who was eating too much sugar, and that doesn't sound like your problem. If you do go vegan consult your doctor first, as vitamin deficiencies can exacerbate serious problems you didn't know you had, and do it gradually.
So much BS in this thread. Probably every respected health organization out there says veganism is perfectly healthy and I already listed a bunch of them. More vegans go bald? lol, that's a new one. Two extra hours a day for eating? Keep 'em coming. I'll add them to my "meat eaters say the darndest things" list. That's true, about 20% of the world's best bodybuilders are vegans and swear by it. Many of these guys have like 2/3% body fat. Weider's books offer whole chapters on it.
I completely forgot about this thread, so I guess I'll update what happened during August when I went vegan. I actually handled being vegan really well. I had to decline a party or two because they had nothing that I could eat, and I didn't want the temptation. I ended up caving in to meat after three weeks, but I think I lasted long enough. If you guys have any other questions about my month of veganism, fire away.
Veganism is a great lifestyle choice. But it isn’t for everyone. When I became vegan I never once missed meat. Cheese took me a while to get over, though. It also doesn’t hurt that I love Indian food.
