It's also a question of logistics. And how Irish is too Irish?

Well we shouldn't have let them come to this country in the first place. I hear they're Papists and bring with them strong drink and make merry in the middle of our cobble stoned streets.

I thought the US didn't have immigration laws when the bulk of the Irish emigrated to the US? So they weren't breaking the law, so have no reason to be deported.

The people illegally coming into the US through the southern and north border should be deports and their families. There is an argument that the 14 amendment in is initial interpretation meant children who's parents were both born the US. However the US supreme court will likely disagree with that argument. You could also argue that the 14 amendment only mattered when the parents of the children were both born in the US or came to the US legally. The US now has about 12 million criminals living within it and the government did nothing.

Irish descendants? What about people from Ireland who are here illegally. Should they go or should they stay? I say they go.

Since the Irish were originally brought over here as indentured servants, we owe them an apology and free land and money and stuff. Our non-Irish privilege makes us unsympathetic to their plight and hardships. And it's time we rid our nation of such symbols of racism as Notre Dame's Fighting Irish mascot.

Yes they can go, but there's been a bureaucratic entanglement. They'll have to be sent to Somalia.

Are they burdening the welfare system while bragging about how great Ireland is?

They immigrated here legally coming through Ellis Island, they also needed an employer pledge of a job waiting for them as well as a sponsor. They did NOT just run across the border and expect to stay.

Make Ireland join the United States of America [and Ireland], the acronym could become USAI [!] and you will have solved all doubts ...

Geopolitical genial ideas a part, Ireland should renounce to €, the early European colonists, all of them, were illegal immigrants. I'm not aware of a Native institution issuing residency permits to European settlers ...

I realize this is a troll thread. However, I have a serious answer. We should deport any Irish national who has, or has ever had, membership in the IRA. They are nothing but terrorist scum who enjoy blowing up schools and hospitals.

On first hand a silly question of course. But when looking with view on the ongoing discussion about the so called "Alliens" of immigrants (illegal and legal) and here in majority Hispanos and Arabs where not only few trolls shout to kick them out ... why not Irish too? After this, the Scots, then the Germans, then the Dutch ...?
