Where do most mass shootings occur? In shopping malls, schools, universities, post offices, movie theaters. Why? Because they are gun-free zones where it is easier to kill many people without some person with a CCW to stop you.
I would dare say those good folks in Georgia will not miss one more gun grabber that is afraid to take a dump without Uncle Sugar giving the okay.
Have the individuals you're disarming initiated force against you? Have they given any indication that they'll do so in the future? Gun policy should be left up to the property owner. In the case of government property guns should be allowed. That is all.
Don't let people make you move. Stay where you live and campaign for change there. The only reason gun advocates seem to win so much is that they're fanatics about the issue, whereas the people who don't own guns don't really care one way or the other. Killing deer is not the end all of my entire life.
Most every shopping mall and school where I live has at least one actual armed policeman assigned there on permanent duty. Lots of them also have armed private security. The reason the mass shootings occur there are because that's where people are. Now with this new law in Georgia even if they notice a guy with wild eyes and an arsenal approaching the food court the only thing they can say is "Hello, Mr Crazed Murderer. Please enjoy your stay and don't let the screams of the dying bother you. Our politicians and gun advocates certainly don't."
Why in the name of pure common sense do you conservatives all assume that a nut who is planning on killing a bunch of people and then shooting himself is going to be deterred by possible armed resistance? Hell, it seems to me he's COUNTING on it.
Armed resistance means the perp will be stopped dead in his tracks....not 'deterred.' This accomplishes 2 things. 1) Dead perp who can't shoot any more innocent souls and 2) Send message to other would-be perp that their planned shooting spree will be inglorious as they will be put-down like a rabid animal.
ANY business or other privately own property can post a sign saying stating that no guns allowed and any caught do so will be prosecuted. - - - Updated - - - I doubt even one court will aloow them in the court, way too many things can go wrong.
Texas law prohibits guns in the court, unless you are police, a judge, or a D.A.. I have an inlaw who is a judge. He carries a Kimber .45.
Because they do stop in the face of armed resistance. In December 2012, a gunman was starting to shoot up a Seattle mall. He was confronted by an armed citizen, and then killed himself. They want to die on their own terms, not by somebody else's hand. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Govern...d-Oregon-Shooter-From-Inflicting-More-Carnage
You mean like Adam Lanza who was hoping to kill more than the mass murderer from Norway who killed 76? The same Adam Lanza who was stopped by the pressure from an LEO so he killed himself....that kind of counting on? Hmmmm Wonder what would have happened if a staff member nearby could of brought that same pressure much earlier...And how many lives would have been saved....stupid laws that cause death and destruction....hope you liberals are happy.
When our nation was young it was required to bring your rifle to public meetings, social outings, when traveling, and yes, even to bars where alcohol was consumed. This is nothing new. Describing it as "lunacy" is nothing short of ignorance, as even today many people bring a CCW where ever they so please. Also, Federal data has shown that strict gun control in the U.S. only increases violent crime rates.
