has anyone else noticed candidates running for office running away from their own party at the same time?

if a guy that holds the office in a district so freaking secure that he got the job because he has the same last name as his uncle is running from the party, how bad is it? has anyone else noticed this?

Not enough there to see what you are talking about. Just a picture of a sign of a guy running for congress. But candidates of the same party running away from an unpopular president is nothing new. You see it in the senate races this year as Democrats distance themselves from Obama. You saw in 2006 as Republican candidates distanced themselves from Bush.

Nothing new about that. Whenever a president's approval rating falls below 45%, candidates of his party start putting as much distance between them and whomever is president. It is called self survival.

you could be correct, but i have never seen a campaign sign that did not declare party affiliation, ever.

even in non-partisan races, the ads and signs would remind votes that it's a non-partisan race.

I do not know where that sign was, but in a lot of places the background color designates the party. Also name recognition comes into play.

Pity poor Obama. He is sitting in Washington with Air Force One all fueled up, and no intelligent democrat has called for him to come out and appear with them.
