If you have seen "Silver Linings Playbook," did you like the storyline and the whole cast? And, did you think Jennifer Lawrence deserved the Best Actress Oscar?
It's a good movie, but in reality if two people with bipolar disorder ended up dating it would be complete chaos. The cops would get called 3 or 4 times per week.
My wife and I are pretty big film buffs. After this movie came out, we were constantly hearing from every direction how good it was and that we had to see it. After it finally came out on home video, we decided to give it a shot. It was one of the worst movies either of us had ever seen. We suffered through the whole thing thinking that something spectacularly interesting had to happen eventually in order to warrant such high praise, but nothing ever came. It wasn't the actors, we both love Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper - the movie was just awful. On a related note, about a year later, I was hearing the same thing about American Hustle - "oh, it's so good, you have to see it". Nope, it was even worse. I only made it about 45 minutes into it before I had to stop, and I hate stopping movies before their finished, no matter their quality. I think it's just David O. Russell. He needs a job in a different field. Maybe he'd be better at selling insurance or something.
