When I lived in Silly Con Valley I would drive over to Oakland to find decent southern cooking. Could never get any of my 'enlightended white 'liberal progressive' associates at work to go with me. They're terrified of most minorities, as a matter of fact; no experience with them outside of a handful at college, the ones they consider 'tame', as if they were exotic animals from a game preserve somewhere that had been domesticated.

 

You must have hung around the wrong crowd. My coworkers venture into all sorts of food...Indian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Etc. Like I said nothing of the sort like Portland in terms of food "police" are here...and never will be.

I'm sick of the stupidity of the cultural appropriation BS.

Our immigration laws during the last half century seem to be aimed at destroying America. The mess we've ended up with no longer looks or feels like the America I've always known. It's no long a melting pot, it now often seems more like a garbage can.

I wish we could stop ALL immigration for a while. Let newcomers decide if they want to be Americans, or if they're just bringing their idiotic problems with them, so they can cause more trouble for us. I'd also be in favor of reversing some of our recent immigration in order to get rid of millions of trouble-makers. If people are so unhappy here, repatriation might solve problems all around.

Yeah, I know it's not a popular stance, but the last few decades our ridiculous immigration policies have flooded us with people with vastly different cultures, and that has led to some harmful, unnecessary, and deep, divisions within our society, imo.

No one will save America for us. And if we don't get our shyte together, our country will be completely lost. And what it will be replaced with isn't pretty, judging by what we are beginning to see all around us.
