I once witnessed someone being hypnotized and they regressed and recalled memories of the past. Then the person began describing an incident in a past life, she went through real emotions, and it was in vivid detail. She was a simple, very humble type person, not a sophisticated person, like an actor would be. It made me believe in past lives, though I can't recall anything, though I have memories of being a baby. Anyway, this video is where a hypnotist helps a woman cure her pathological fear of dolls by recovering a memory of a past life, where the subconscious mind associated a traumatic incident, a car wreck where she died, and left her crying children in the car, then in her current life, as a baby, was placed in a hospital room with other crying babies and she was given a doll to play with, and her subconscious mind converted the crying babies into dolls in her mind, and associated them with the death incident, and she realized this was why she was afraid of dolls. Sounds bizarre, but the subconscious mind isn't necessarily rational, and i can see something like this happening, how the subconscious mind makes bizarre associations, especially when it comes to trauma. But, the whole point is, it just doesn't sound like a story someone would have made up. It also shows how hypnotherapy can be used to help people with irrational phobias, that many of them might be due to past traumatic incidents, even incidents in past lives. ( assuming there is such a thing, but i believe in it ). Watch the video, and see if it convinces you of the reality of past lives, i.e., reincarnation. I'd be curious if it moves the needle for any skeptics.
I believe past lives are possible, and I do not think time is linear in the afterlife, so you could be reborn 20 years ago and actually meet your older self
This is an interesting topic. I've read about this kind of thing. Carol Bowman has done research on children remembering their past lives. I don't believe that this is all there is although I'm hesitant to say that there is a "God/god/etc." There are just too many strange things in our world that can't be explained by what we now know. P.S. I don't mean this as a criticism, but, sometimes your posts are difficult to read because you don't write in paragraphs. There are others I wanted to comment on but didn't believe I was unable to read so much text without some kind of visual relief. Again, not a complaint. Just wanted you to know.
There is no doubt in my mind that reincarnation is a fact. It's hard to say whether it's a universal experience for all humans, but it's been very well documented in many cases. The University of Virginia has a department devoted to such cases. Even 60 Minutes (I think it was) covered a fascinating story of a young man born and raised during the digital age. His parents used the internet and really did a great job with raising the boy. Long story short, his previous life included being a US Navy pilot in WWII and was shot down. Because of the efforts of his parents and others, eventually he was introduced as a boy to the only surviving member of his previous family, a sister. She was absolutely certain that the things the boy knew could only have been known by her brother.
