    It is Falena. I think if you soak it in water or a vinegar solution it helps. I could never get passed that to give it another try.

    Ill pretty much try anything once. Ive never had the opportunity to try okra. Im hesitant to cook it because if it is slimy, no one will eat it.

    Yes it’s true. Doesn’t taste like peppers, maybe the flavor of steamed zucchini with a different texture. You can also pickle okra whole and it’s not slimy either, or in a gumbo, actually gumbo is the African word for okra.

    Okra is great stuff, but the outcome will depend on the skill of the cook. Okra always works in gumbo.

    Okra is definitely one of those "acquired" taste kind of food. My kids won't eat it due to it being "slimy."
