I believe it. We're getting back down into the 30s again tonight.

Right off the top of my head, I think she's growing at least 8 different kinds of daffodils, including a 400 year-old variety (Van Sion) that I believe was brought over here from England during the 17th Century.

These are the last ones we've got blooming - Poet's daffodils. I took this pic yesterday as our foxhound photobombed the shot:

I have to look one up a bit later as I don't have any pics on my phone. They are the common algae eater of the aquarium trade.

It's an armor-plated catfish with a downturned sucker mouth. They make great targets for bowfishing practice until you get tired of pulling the damn things off the points

Now that is a neat picture, worthy of framing for sure. He is a beautiful dog.

We have wild daffodils here that have tiny little flowers, in the spring you can see them growing by the roads. They are a treat to see in the springtime.

Glad to see you too. Conversating here is inclusive except politics and I hope the word inclusive hasn't become political.

Pretty much every body of freshwater in Florida, is now filled with the damn things.

The river is low right now and you can literally see thousands of them.
I don't even think Asian people eat them.

They must be like the pythons and boa constrictors, invasive and out of control.

It's that time of month again, time to make the 35 mi pilgrimage to the cancer treatment center.
Her infusion takes about an hour and a half so I come just down the street here a few blocks to my happy place to drink a beer in the shade.

Same spot as last month but I think I captured a better picture this time. Charlotte harbor just south of the 41 bridge. I believe it is still at least 10 miles or better until the mouth of Charlotte harbor actually opens up right at the Gulf of Mexico, but the Peace River is very wide here. Most definitely very brackish water here, more salt than fresh.

It is quite like beach sand here, while there is plenty of shell present....... This fine white quartz type sand, lacks the heavy presence of very small shell material that would be found in the same sand on the open Gulf.

Actually, our doggie (Sweet Pea) is a she. Someone abandoned her out in our parts a year and a half ago when she was about 6 months old and we took her in. She's been a great addition to the family - exceptionally smart, sweet disposition, very athletic (I've clocked her running 27 mph), excellent hunter and gun dog. As Virginians, there's the bonus fun fact in George Washington being the man who first bred the American Foxhound. When I sign off for the evening we're going to go for a short jaunt in the North 40.

Here's a pic of some of Mrs. Talon's handiwork in our shade garden - this is probably my favorite azalea:

    AZALEA.jpg

She's planted some azaleas and bearded irises back there and I've planted some Bloodgood Japanese Maples and Black Bamboo. After 10 years it's finally turning into a nice Japanese shade garden...

Sweet Pea is a pretty dog and for some reason abandoned dogs are always special. You have to wonder why someone would abandon them. Interesting
    fact about Washington.
Beautiful azalea !! Your wife has a talent for flowers.

I found a mushroom growing by the entrance to the big barn. Unusual to say the least.
