There’s no such thing as left or right leaning when it comes to facts. FACTS aren’t political. Was this a slip of the slip:)

It’s like Biden. He chooses “truth” over facts :)

never said there was, but someone left leaning can do fact checking, same as someone right leaning

    Trump choose "Fantasy" over Facts

Sometimes. And the MSM choose fantasy as well. They claim has says and means things he never says and has done tings he’s never done. Can’t forgive 3 yrs of fake Russia collusion. No facts. ALL fantasy.

Wrong thread for that conversations, but we all have seen the Mueller report and know Russia Collusion was attempted, but was not successful, so will leave it at that

It isn't semantics. The claim is that she said that the police can't enforce the law and that citizens are on their own. This sounds really broad and like I will have to defend myself if someone breaks into my home. The reality is that she only said that in context of the specific case of a large riot. So in all over cases, they can still expect the full support of the police. So they definitely did twist what she said to sound a lot more broad than she really was. Next time, they should quote her actual words rather than putting words into her mouth. What they did was deception by omission. By leaving out the context of a riot, they made her words sound far more scary than they actually were.

    Bottom line:
One doesn't create a clickbait headline by putting quote marks around a "characterization".

❔~ Who checks on the fact checkers ... I don't trust any of them. You have to be your own fact checker - like a detective sometimes. :blushes: :magnify::emailsend:

If they had just inserted the words "during a riot", then that would have gotten a "mostly true" from me. The phrases "James the fast man" and "James the fastest man in Lannigan county" mean very different things from the context missing in the first statement.

You shouldn't put put blind faith in fact checkers because when it comes down to it, they are just people with biases like the rest of us. What I do is read the entire article and see what kind of references they have. Sometimes I will pull up external sources as well. Most of the time, I do find fact checkers to be accurate, but there are other times where I do disagree with their opinion.
