Give the Left a few more years of free reign, and corporations may start becoming alert to some of the insane things happening in the court system, ridiculously excessive lawsuit payouts targeting big corporations, a long list of ever-increasing burdensome regulations, and a constant push for higher taxes. In fact I think Democrat leaders have found themselves in a little bit of a pickle, because for all the calls for higher taxes on corporations, they know it is political suicide. (At least at this point. Maybe they want to cram more migrants into the borders to better cement their foundation before they dare start raising corporate tax rates) That hasn't of course stopped them from spending now, but they've mostly been borrowing - throwing more onto the national debt - and printing the money. Also some big cuts to the military, which however has been confounded by U.S. support to the war in Ukraine. The U.S. military budget in 2011 was $664.8 billion, which adjusted for inflation would be equal to $930 billion in 2023. But the defense budget for 2023 was $816.7 billion. So that's like a 9% drop. Keep in mind the U.S. has spent almost $70 billion in military support to Ukraine over the last year.
You seem think that the corporations not donating to him is a good thing. Question: Didn't you cheer his corporate tax cut in 2017? Back then, the Trumper attitude was that the corporations are job creators, and, thus, doing good things for corporations would help the little guy. Now, you have to make up your mind, which one is it? Me, I am not a fan of corporate leadership, but I can understand why they would not be excited about the uncertainty, chaos, and authoritarianism that comes with a Trump presidency. Anyone in a leadership role should also be highly concerned about unhinged social media posts, like the one below: Corporate leaders WOULD, however, be excited about another corporate tax cut.
I cheered his killing of the obamacare mandate. Tho I do generally support any tax cuts, I would rather for him to simplify the tax code, like he said he would, but that's congress that has to do that, and the corporations that employ the law firms that write the code for congress to pass are never going to back any candidates looking to cut their loopholes that effectively exempt them from taxes.
I don't see how ANYBODY, not even the financial elite that would not benefit from a dictatorship, can support Trump. Trump is supported only by fanatics with a cult-like behavior, by Republicans who are just used to vote Republican, and an inner circle that thinks they can become part of some sort of "Trump dynasty". To not infringe on forum rules, I assume that NOBODY in this forum is part of the first group. But that's all he has now.
A significant portion of corporate managers are leftists. None of this should surprise you. You should ignore what they say about politics just as you should ignore what politicians say. There is a good case for ignoring what everybody says about politics. Let common sense be your guide.
Trump was the best thing for the USA since Reagan. Don't forget who won 49 states. It could happen again.
