Some more commonalities between Islam and Progressivism.

There's a famous Islamic rule, although I have no idea if it's accepted by all Muslims, that a peace treaty with heathens can only be temporary (or in most cases, last for ten years). I'm not sure if this is Quranic, from a Hadith or what but most of us will have heard of this before.

I think this is analogous to some behaviors in progressivism and in order to explain why, I'd like to discuss the motivations that support such a policy. In Islam, any heathen religion or non-religion is considered unacceptable. As such, the peace treaty is temporary, or lasts for only ten years because if the agreement were permanent (as much as such things can be) that would amount to an acceptance of the heretical. Therefore, a peace treaty is really just a stop on the road towards the defeat of the enemy.

In progressivism, progress is seen as inevitable and usually also, as unending (I considered this in a post I wrote called the "Metaphysics of Progressivism"). If this is true, any compromise with a non-progressive and perhaps, any compromise at all must by definition be temporary. If it were not, which is to say that if the compromise were viewed as a permanent solution, such a thing would mean that no further progress in that area could happen. This sort of arrangement would actually be a rejection of progress as an inevitable and ongoing thing. Therefore, to the true progressive, any policy compromise is merely a stop on the road.

Lately, progressives have become notorious for refusing to compromise and have gained a reputation for refusing to even debate with non-progressives. Many people have noticed that, although progressives may not have taken compromises seriously in the past, this intractability is largely a new trait. It also seems to have increased in direct relation to the prevalence of Twitter, although the social justification of western adult daycare, I mean college, has also clearly played a part. In order to explain what Twitter has to do with this, let's attempt examine our favorite SJW trope on the motivational level. What is this trope? Well, it starts with a V.

In the simplest sense, why does a member of an SJW tribe virtue signal? Clearly, they do it because it works. Those who virtue signal the most often and the most un-sagaciously are handsomely rewarded for it. Although there is a stereotype about "thirsty cucks who bang on drums to try and get ***** but never will", the truth is that the PC principals of the world crush plenty of puss, even if most of it is not exactly fresh. This is all to say that virtue signaling works if that's the level where your standards are and therefore, virtue signaling begats more virtue signaling. It's simple economics and competition. And that is where the refusal to compromise has come from.

Thanks in part to Twitter, along with the hipster gentrification movement, college has still not had to end for some people. Even though their bubbles grow smaller, older and more cannibalistic over time, they are still there and anyone who attempts a smart, albeit temporary compromise at this point is no longer hardcore enough to get a social reward. There is only the virtue signal and its exponential growth. Many of these people are never beyond their tribe except for on Christmas and when they're on Twitter, neither of which is really the same thing. The calls for war are tempered only by the hollow sophistry of the cuck, or in other words, most of them don't actually have the guts to punch anyone.

I personally believe that the great non-holy un-war in which they all lie down in the street and refuse to leave, get Uber Eats delivered to them and defecate right there like the homeless they seem to be metaphysically attracting, must be less than ten years away. I think we're looking at 2026 at the latest. Unless Twitter gets shut down, it will apparently be viewed as the only way to save the planet from non-progressive white people.

 

I don't like either Islam or progressivism, but it seems rather surface commonalities.

Furthermore, the main difference between Islam and progressivism, is that Islam is able to get extremly suboptimal but lasting societies, progressivism isn't.
Even if I have a really poor opinion of Islam, it would be an insult to compare it to progressivism.
