A European public opinion poll in 2010 asked respondents which of the following statements they agree with: 1) I believe there is a God. 2) I believe there is some sort of spirit or life force. 3) I don't believe there is any sort of spirit, God or life force. Interestingly, in countries where only a small proportion of the population believe that there is a God, a large proportion believe there is some sort of spirit or life force. My question is, what is a spirit or life force? I'm sure it will mean different things to different people. So please post any ideas about any sort of spirit or life force, whether it's a hypothesis, or you believe that it exists. This would also include any ideas about a spirit or life force relating to a God, as long as ''God'' is not defined by any of the mainstream religions, because these definitions are easy enough to look up.
