South Sudan independent, jihad continues

The Republic of South Sudan is independent today. But the jihad against it is sure not to let up. This new nation deserves the support of all free nations, and even more so nations which have been the victim of the global genocidal Jihad.

the US India and Israel should be one of many which should support this nation based on mutual suffering at the hands of the Jihad.

On July 9, the mostly Christian South Sudan will legally and officially separate from the Muslim north and become a new, independent and free country. Fearing loss of its iron clad grip of other non-Arab regions in the north, whose people likely envy the freedoms won by the South, Arab/Islamist leaders in Khartoum have launched a military assault on the Nuba Mountains, a mixed Christian, animist and Muslim region. Reports from the area are gruesomely reminiscent of the decades-long assault Khartoum waged on the South. These include forced conversions to Islam, mass displacement, bombing of civilians and mass slaughter.

Anticipating the effects of Christians winning freedom from his rule already in December of 2010 Sudan's President Omar Hassan al-Bashir, who is indicted by the International Criminal Court for genocide and crimes against humanity, laid out a vision for the future of his nation:

"If south Sudan secedes, we will change the constitution and at that time there will be no time to speak of diversity of culture and ethnicity... Sharia (Islamic law) and Islam will be the main source for the constitution, Islam the official religion and Arabic the official language", he told a group of supporters.

Al-Bashir made his statement as the people of Southern Sudan were preparing to vote in the referendum that secured their imminent independence. With less than a week left before South secedes, al-Bashir is determined to fulfill his promise not by changing the constitution, but through murder and ethnic cleansing.

After concluding a military occupation of the disputed border region of Abyei, which resulted in the expulsion of more than 100,000 (non-Arabs, mostly from the Dinka tribe), Sudanese army and government-sponsored Arab militias attacked the African tribes of Nuba Mountains, a region situated in the Northern state of Southern Kordofan. Reports indicate indiscriminate bombings of civilians and a systematic killing of the black-skinned Nuba, which forced estimated 100,000 to abandon their homes. One report described "door to door executions of completely innocent and defenseless civilians, often by throat cutting." Another suggested the government might be using chemical weapons. The Bishop of Nuba Mountains described the events as genocide: "Once again we are facing the nightmare of genocide of our people in a final attempt to erase our culture and society from the face of the earth." A well-respected Sudan analyst concurred.

Nuba embody the diversity of culture and religion that al-Bashir wants to destroy. Numbering some 1.5 million, Nuba people are Christians, Muslims and the followers of traditional faiths. It is not uncommon to find the adherents of all faiths within a single family. Comprising from more than fifty tribes and speaking an equal number of languages, the Nuba have an incredibly diverse culture.

UN: Sudan atrocities amount to 'war crimes'
15 Aug 2011 - UN report says violations by both sides in Southern Kordofan included "extrajudicial killings" and "arbitrary arrests".

Atrocities committed in June in Sudan's Southern Kordofan state by armies of the north and south "could amount to crimes against humanity or war crimes," according to a report by the UN human rights agency. The 12-page report, released on Monday in Geneva, covers the period from June 5 to June 30 and describes a wide range of alleged violations of international law in the town of Kadugli. The violations are also said to have occurred in the surrounding Nuba mountains, after fighting broke out in Kadugli on 5 June between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Sudan People's Liberation Army North (SPLA-N).

Reported violations included "extrajudicial killings, arbitrary arrests and illegal detention, enforced disappearances, attacks against civilians, looting of civilian homes and destruction of property," as well as massive displacement. The report describes a number of specific individual detentions and disappearances, including those of women and children. It says "a series of extrajudicial killings targeted people who were affiliated with the SPLA-N and SPLM, most of whom allegedly were from the Nuba communities".

Navi Pillay, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, said despite limited access by investagators to areas affected, what happened in Southern Kordofan was "serious". "This is a preliminary report produced under very challenging circumstances and with very limited access to affected areas," she said. "However, what it suggests has been happening in Southern Kordofan is so serious that it is essential there is an independent, thorough and objective inquiry with the aim of holding perpetrators to account." Pillay expressed concern about continuing violence in the six weeks since the end of the period covered by the report, and noted some of its key recommendations concerning access.

Start with the FACTS.. The south of Sudan is MOSTLY animist not Christian.

Some western Christians persist in claiming persecution.. Its a propaganda game.

Would they be the same people who taught you your dishonest tactics of denial and negation in regards to the centuries of warfare, slaving, persecution, etc., that is still inflicted on the Christians and Animists in southern Sudan?

The full horror of the campaign of violence that the government in Khartoum has unleashed against the black African Nuba people of Sudan has been laid bare in two confidential reports by the UN peacekeeping force that the Observer has obtained.

The accounts of "devastating" daily aerial bombardment of civilians, "indiscriminate shelling" of crowded civilian areas, summary executions and deliberate targeting of dark-skinned people are contained in a 19-page report requested by the UN security council. A second report details how "active obstruction by state authorities (in South Kordofan) has completely undermined the ability of the peacekeeping force, UN Mission in Sudan (Unmis), to fulfil the most basic requirements of its mandate" in the Nuba region...

The Muslim Arabs in the North are trying to wipe out the African Black non-Muslim population. Slavery has also been common.

It seems that since the North has lost the southern territory to the "blacks", they are happy to see refugees fleeing out of other parts of Sudan and going to South Sudan.

The idea is that if the black "Nubians" are going to take away part of the territory of Sudan, the Arab majority in the North is going to push as many black "Nubians" as possible who are still in Sudan away to the broken off territory. Preventing these Nubian people from breaking away more territory from Sudan.

Definitely ethnic conflict/genocide, very much compounded by Islamic religious issues.

Only a decade or two ago, the government in the North was still sanctioning slave capturing raids on the South.

The mainstream news in America and Europe seems to have been a little reluctant to cover this, since it involved Christian victims and Muslim perpetrators, and went against the other narrative they were trying to create.
