Glad we ended the Obama regime’s Russian pay off program on space and are back in the driver seat to exploration! Make America Great!!

"Run off at the mouth"...? You seem to be doing a good job of that, Matt. How many space flights were launched from United States soil during Obama's regime? And of those few, how many had already been authorized and planned during Bush's years...?

And have you forgotten that Obama cut NASA's planetary-sciences budget by 20 percent in 2013, as part of a restructuring plan, contrary to the recommendations of the National Research Council. Obama had more immediate concerns, like social welfare programs, as reasons to cut funding to the agency.

So, instead, the USA was reduced to having to pay the Russians ~$80,000,000 per 'seat' aboard their spacecraft in order to meet our mission requirements aboard the International Space Station. The Obama regime also shut down the entire Space Shuttle program, with no replacement.

[IMG]. "What do I need 'outer space' for anyway...?" :spin:

Space exploration is a waste of money..... right.....

See the full list of the advancements that came from space exploration below. Frankly it is a staggering list representing BILLIONS of dollars of intellectual property. No program has paid better dividends than NASA.

There is a difference between exploration to visit new ground and doing the same thing over and over so as to maintain a government budget appropriate. Don't throw out cliches about space travel or comments about the glory days of NASA. Rather tell me the return on investment for the current mission.

BTW, what do you think about their global warming for kids web site?

Do scientists conduct all sorts of experiments on the space station that cannot be done on earth? I believe they do.

I would imagine so. I have always liked the space travel and technology, was a big Star Trek fan.

Wrong again, the Republicans in the House cut the funding. Keep trying :)

I believe Space Force is more for USA and allies defense more than it is for exploration, although they will no doubt exchange knoweldge.

I'm re-reading the Space Odyssey as we speak, on book four currently... a masterpiece; and the Star Trek fan forever I'll remain...

The new Space Force is more likely to build a sustainable base on the moon than NASA.
NASA should have done it in the early 1970s.

Not sure if a Space Station would be just as effective. We could certainly launch ships from there or a moon base much easier without Earth's gravity.

The abandonment of the Sky Lab was a serious set back of the advance of science.
Yet another major unforced USG error.

You may want to consider seeing an eye doctor.

Democratic members of the committee spoke strongly against the proposed cuts, which Republicans say are necessary under the federal sequestration cuts prompted by the Budget Control Act of 2011.
