What I understand was that a phishing initiative was made, presumably aided if not directed by Russians, to get access to the DNC's emails. That isn't "hacking" either, though it doesn't matter, as the DNC thankfully did not control the voting machines.

Computer hacking refers to the practice of modifying or altering computer software and hardware to accomplish a goal that is considered to be outside of the creator’s original objective. Those individuals who engage in computer hacking activities are typically referred to as “hackers.”

That's an opinion. Maybe one I share, but still it's a judgement. In America we have agreed to a process for resolving differences of opinion at that scale and methods for coming to a collective judgement.

If you (or Greg) wants to pursue that process, I'm grateful for the contribution and look forward to the legal resolution of those concerns.

I haven't supported the voter ID laws proposed so far, I think they create more harm that good. In my opinion the problem they are seeking to solve may not exist (or at least doesn't exist significantly enough to warrant the unfairness they produce. But that is just an opinion.

We're not talking about mathematical proofs here, these are issues of law. These issues require a context and an authority to determine what the evidence proves—your judgement of what they prove, even mine, doesn't supersede the legal process. If you don't agree, your problem isn't with the part of America you want to label right or left, red or blue—it's with our shared constitution. I'm not ready to toss out that agreement or give up on this very difficult partnership we call America. Even if I have some doubts the next guy is respecting all it's rules. I believe most of us feel the same.
