Just like the Tom and Jerry and Roadrunner vs Coyote cartoons were banned for being too violent. With parenting like that no wonder kids today have so many developmental difficulties.

Clearly the Hispanic-American community has a healthier sense of humor than (let me guess-) white, affluent, progressive SJWs.

The issue with stereotypes is not that they aren't true. It's that they are made into caricatures.

And, it's irrelevant what people **outside* those stereotypes think about them. That's why it's insensitive to say "Oh, you can't take a joke." Just like beauty, offensiveness is in the eye of the beholder.

No one has a right to not be offended. Also, people cannot give offense. People can only take offense.

I don’t agree with censorship of any type, offensive or not.

Why does the double-standard even exist if this is true?[/QUOTE]

    What double-standard?

And yes, it is true. You can choose whether or not to be offended by what someone else says. Because of that it is entirely on you if there is even an offense. It doesn't matter if the person cussing you out tried to give offense. Because you are the one that chooses whether or not it is an offense. I've been called every name in the book. Yet none of it ever bothers me. Because I don't let it. That is what the whole rhyme of "sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me" is all about.

The reason most people take offense at things is because they let their emotions run their lives. I don't. Therefore the only things that ever offend me are things that I let offend me. And the only things I let offend me is pre-determined things. Two things in total in fact.

Life is much simpler because of this stance.

Yes, I agree with you 100%. I don't have a hair trigger temper and I don't get worked up over everything. However, those of us that think this way are in the minority.

Proof? Use the "search" feature and read how everyone is offended about something and they want everyone else to be offended with them.

    * CRT (teaches "hate" but excluding all non-white contributors to the birth and growth of this nation is not).
    * Taking a knee (let's pretend racism doesn't exist and anybody that acknowledges it does is a liar and pandering).
    * Apparently there is a mafia group of transgender people forcing others to call them by their chosen pronoun.
    * Apparently, some people don't have "off" buttons on their televisions and they are ticked to see gay couples and interracial couples in commercials.
    * People without wombs want to tell people with wombs what to do with them.
    * People with guns don't want anybody asking them for help in solving some of the problems we face because of guns in the wrong hands.
    * People want people locked up and forcibly vaccinated.
    * Helicopter parents gang up on anybody that doesn't worship Trump (as if their "back" button is broken).

So, yeah, there are a ton of people picking up whatever gets thrown and b*tching and moaning about it constantly. I don't have that level of energy but, admittedly, I didn't go stir crazy when I was younger and had more energy. Life is a tad bit easier that way. ;-)

I already posted this in another area- but it's so appropriate to this issue. When people begin to be offended by what they believe others might think, believe the world owes each of us freedom from all things which we may find offensive- all hope for humanity goes down the drain. The TOLERANCE of such nonsense, even in passing- erodes our capacity for reason and logic. No species that weak can survive long.

Surely- we can do better than that. Every other species on earth does better than that.

If stereotypes are offensive, that tells you that you should work on changing yourself or your culture so that the stereotype isn't true any longer. A stereotype that isn't true doesn't last long. For example, you can't really start a stereotype that shows Canadians hating hockey. There is nothing wrong with stereotypes in general. If they reflect something that is offensive, then change it. If they reflect something that is funny, laugh at it. That's why Chappelle or Eddie Murphy can get away with the white face skits. White people look at them and say, "yes, that's about right" and then they laugh.

Speedy was the good guy and had special powers. Elmer Fudd had a speech impediment and was outsmarted by a wabbit! Only his gun got cancelled!

Apparently you've found a hidden bottle of that rare wine known as "common sense". Cool!

Just like white leftists decided that the logo for the Washington Redskins, which was developed by a native american, was racist.
