Not before there's a vaccine. So big swaths will still get it, but big swaths won't die.

But who gives a **** about millions dead, **** em. These masks are troublesome and we wanna go bowling.

You missed my point. They're still going to die. You've only bought a little bit more time.

The vaccine, when it does finally first come out, won't be the "savior" you think it will be.

Meanwhile you've crashed the economy, and many more will die due to not being able to pay for medical care, or higher rates of suicide.

Why won't it be the "savior"? They're talking about 90% effective rates and even at a good deal less than that it will still be a really big difference

A little bit more time is all that's really needed.

I recall one guy saying that most people aren't going to be unaffected by tripping over dead people on their way into Starbucks but I guess we have some who really won't care right on this board

Be my guest if you want to dance on all the graves that die in the US, if you think this is all "mass hysteria"

Doesn't change the fact that Obama kicked out more illegals than anybody else, why the GOP claims he did the opposite.
Plenty of posters here swallow that hoax as the truth. That's the point, and not what Donald supposedly did.

Loads of vaccines out already. This may well be sorted by early Summer - and that is where the argument between the UK and US is. A UK advisor says it is going to be able to start providing the vaccine next week because we are the best country in the world. Fauci says we have not bothered to do proper tests to check out its safety. Earlier a different UK Minister or someone boasted that the reason we could bring it out quicker than anyone else was because we had been following and testing each phase whereas other countries had just sat on their backsides and now have all that work to do, No idea who is right but am glad that my neighbour, who has been off work for months due to her co-morbities will get it before me just to make sure ;)
If you and the UK and Europe had followed the example of those who knew how to deal with this sort of thing we likely, like some of them, would never have needed a lockdown. However I do agree with you on the people of the US and medical bills during a pandemic. Not only does it make some not go for treatment and continue to pass it on, but yes, the size of some of the bills I have seen would make people want to commit suicide. That the US has not given free medical care over this is unbelievable.

I was a flanker and occasional no 8. I tried playing in the backs a few times but found it too dull.

    .....free....??

yeah I liked the freedom round the scrum of being a flanker but we had two gargantuan props that needed balancing so if was a toss-up between the two spots...jeez that was a life time ago....

I tried playing again after a break of 9 years when I was 30. Bloody nearly killed me. It wasn't so much the lack of fitness as it was throwing myself into tackles with the same enthusiasm as a teenager. I came off the field limping and bloody. Also the game had changed so much in the intervening years that I was completely out of date. Rucks had been eliminated and when I caught the ball from a restart and tried to set up a running maul my team mates just looked at me like I was an idiot.
I still like to watch the game though.

Well free to those who do not have the necessary medical insurance. Part of the reason for this is because it is known that people who cannot pay are more likely to wait a longer time before getting tested and if they have covid more likely to not seek medical help. This is a pandemic. It is in everyone's interest that those who catch it can get quick and thorough help.

I am sure free treatment for Covid and a much better/freer or free medical service for all was one of the main things that made a lot of people very angry with Biden when he did not promise it as the US is the only First world country which does not offer its people at the point of need, free medical help....and their prices are beyond despair. I have read about people being saved from covid but owing about a million dollars. There is a crazy story about a woman who somehow or other had her leg or legs basically cut off and asked people not to phone for an ambulance as she could not afford it. An ambulance to hospital costs about £2000 in the US.

Should I be dancing on the graves of those who die from cancer, or should I be dancing on the graves of those killed in motorcycle accidents? What about those who've died from cardiovascular disease?

Actually, I'm not into dancing on the graves of anybody. That came from your tortured mind.

Mass hysteria has been induced by mass propaganda by Fauci and Friends.

Men go mad in herds, but they recover their senses slowly, and only one by one.

Rounders is a fun game, it's just not cricket though.
Table tennis is about the limit of my sporting activity these days.

It was actually a real hoot with all the kids and adults - we used to take over a section of the Main park in Hamburg on Sundays and have a couple of games and then start the barbee and chill....happy days....

It does have the advantage over cricket in that it doesn't require a prepared pitch. You can play it on just about any surface.
Before the Civil War cricket was the most popular bat and ball sport in the US.
Due to the high mobility of the troops, and therefore the inability to prepare a wicket, baseball took over in a very short time and now the poor saps can't even understand cricket never mind play it.

masks actually help to spread infection when sick people are wearing them on the street and then enter public facilities.
No masks on the street = less chance to get infected

    Here's some additional context:

    https://www.wired.com/story/are-covid-patients-gasping-it-isnt-real-as-they-die/

ISTM that the media fell for a drama queen spinning a yarn that confirmed their biases. They certainly didn't attempt to do any real reporting on her stories.
