It’s important to know how many citizens we have. Government planners need that information. The private sector uses that info, too.

Yes, if they apply for a piece of paper their lives matter. If they don't apply for a piece of paper, their lives don't matter.

Likewise, anyone in prison has broken the law so their lives don't matter. Might as well just make the death penalty apply for any crime, don't you think?

Noncitizens are not allowed to vote, and there is no path that leads to citizenship for those here without documentation.

Counting immigrants, especially illegals, skews the numbers for seats in Congress, electoral votes, etc. It also throws off all the numbers for federal payments to the states.

I think the population of the nation is divided by the total number of House members to get how many each Rep represents. Then, each state gets 1 Rep for each multiple of that size.

Offhand, I don't know how they take care of the remainders in the division.

The real screw jobs come in that Washington DC gets NO Reps and NO Senators even though DC has more US citizens than Wyoming and Vermont.

Then, the electoral college gives an elector for each senator - which again gives little states more representation per citizen. Someone in Wyoming gets more representation in the electoral college than someone in California, Texas or all other stated except Vermont.

 

Just because the left calls everything racist doesn't mean it is. BTW, illegal is not a race but that may be to difficult for some on the left to understand.

He wants census workers to knock on doors and say, "I'm from the government and I want to know if there are noncitizens living here."
