Funny though! -- the cartoon not the tragic event. Kids will be copycatting Columbine for the rest of history. Nothing will ever change that.
So the little babe hid in a closet for 2 hours to evade the shooter. That's how the first mammalian rat-like ancestors of all the rest of us and of our dogs and cats survived the dinosaurs as well. It worked then and it should still work now.
She is right We should create laws that make certain areas places where guns canot be taken into that place whatsoever. Schools are oviously one of these spots. I am a fan of gun control on collge campus', we should create a law that makes them a "gun free zone"
Responses to grave mortal danger are: 1 - fight 2 - flight 3 - freeze 4 - Stockholm syndrome. Hiding is akin to flight and then freeze. She ran, hid, and froze in a closet.
As for me, with my pistol with me at all times, and this kid having an AR-15 type carbine, I would use some combination of hide and seek to fight him. The AR outguns my pistol. So I would need some element of surprise in my favor to counter that. Maneuver and outflanking the shooter would be the best bet. Stealth and quiet would be the key. Try to stealthily creep within pistol range (in this case 25 yards or less) on the shooter's flank to overcome the advantage of firepower that the carbine has.
Of course teens are not allowed to have guns at their schools anywhere. Better security is what all these schools need.
So if we made these types of guns illegal, things like this wouldn't happen? Isn't murder already illegal? What about things like meth? Sorry, just showing how stupid it sounds that anyone thinks we can stop a psychotic madman with a law.
