UNITED NATIONS -- U.S. Ambassador Susan Rice dismissed claims that Edward Snowden's highly classified leaks have weakened the Obama presidency and damaged U.S. foreign policy, insisting that the United States will remain "the most influential, powerful and important country in the world."

She said it's too soon to judge whether there will be any long-term serious repercussions from the intelligence leaks by the former National Security Agency contractor who fled to Hong Kong and then Russia after seizing documents disclosing secret U.S. surveillance programs in the U.S. and overseas

It's strange how this corrupt Obama appointee was so quick to lie and blame Benghazi on a bogus video. Now she wants to wait and see?

    http://www.thestar.com/news/world/2...militants_to_change_how_they_communicate.html

Two U.S. intelligence officials say members of virtually every terrorist group, including core Al Qaeda, are attempting to change how they communicate, based on what they are reading in the media, to hide from U.S. surveillance — the first time intelligence officials have described which groups are reacting to the leaks. The officials spoke anonymously because they were not authorized to speak about the intelligence matters publicly.

Last week he was branded as a terrorist and traitor, this week just a lowly hacker...LOL.

The corrupt Rice is trying to deflect attention away from Obama.
Snowden leaked secrets on Obama's corrupt watch.

If Rice says it's not a big deal, you can bet it's a humungous deal!

When you cannot manage a disaster you simply act as if you don't care.

I give the Obama regime credit for transparency....being transparently phony, I mean.

The NSA need to record my life and save it on file to protect me. But we have an open border with a growing population of Moslems in Mexico.

Susan Rice never spoke the truth about anything lately.
Every word that comes out of her big trap is a lie!

She's only saying that because Russia and China totally blew off this president. It was a huge embarrassment.

Very true but we have to assume Snowden damaged US security if Rice says otherwise.

When Susan Rice speaks, she lies!

A lot remains to be seen in this issue. One thing I suspect is that while Snowden should qualify for whistle-blower protections, it may be the case that he hacked systems to access some of the information. In fact, Obama actually referred to Snowden as a "hacker" in public comments. This poses a difficult question, because while the information exposes conduct that appears the government has violated the law, if Snowden hacked systems to obtain the evidence he could be charged with stealing state secrets. I'm not lately versed on espionage laws, but I believe it becomes tricky here, because just like Wikileaks, these secrets are not assumed to have been taken for the purpose of giving or selling them to foreign agents. Instead, Snowden has simply gone public with the information. I don't think that constitutes espionage.

Susan Rice is wrong. Snowden's leaks are a big deal. Snowden is a traitor who paved the way for other attention seekers to get a spotlight by making a big deal about things that weren't a secret in the first place.

Maybe, but the Obama administration is embarrassed.
They should be as Rice lied to cover up the mess they are responsible for.

Exactly as we saw how Rice lied about Benghazi.
If she lies once, she lies twice!

She's taking a cue from Bush. Telling her quarry she's NOT hot on his trail so he'll relax, let his guard down, make a mistake.

    Then snap!

The trap shuts on his neck.

Did you know (and could you prove) that the Obama administration was using the powers of the Presidency to investigate and persecute their political rivals?

Do you know how much that is illegal, out of bounds, off limits, threatening, chilling and unconstitutional?

Do you realize how much we have been in fear of this very development? Ever since the publication of Orwell's book, 1984!

And you want to PUNISH the one who alerted us to these warning signs?

That is the epitome of cluelessness.

Stop being a reactionary and think like someone whose nation has been overrun by the enemy and he's inside our protective perimeter and is running rampant inside our defensive wire but only until Snowden came along and revealed this POTUS level treachery could we defend ourselves from it.

We owe the continued viability of our Federal government to Snowden because he alerted us to the fact that the enemy is running amuck where only loyalists and patriots should be!

Until he blew the whistle most Americans thought Obama was on OUR side.

Thanks to Snowden we know the truth.

Don't tell me you'd rather be IGNORANT???

Yeah, these Libocrats have got pretty thick callouses where the Benghazi fiasco is concerned, and, since she "speaks for Obama" (http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/Biden-Susan-Rice/2013/05/07/id/503301), we may assume that Obama doesn't think any of this annoying, penny-ante Snowden crap is of any importance, either.... And Hillary? Well, we remember what she pronounced about Benghazi -- "WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?"

The take-away is that anything that makes this gaggle of stupid, bumbling hyperlib morons look bad (which is a lot) regarding anything, anytime (which is often) is just so much insignificant rabbit ****, right...?

But a man that I suspect is far more intelligent that the whole Obama regime put together must have wanted to get his hands on Snowden very, very much! Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin seemed to find something exceptionally interesting about Snowden, or he damn sure wouldn't have had his FSB grab him up and put him on an Aeroflot plane to Moscow! But, hey... "What difference does it make...?" :spin:...:roflol:

There are no intelligence whistleblower protections. IG report on US whistleblower programs and effectiveness.

Drake went to his boss, to the NSA OIG, to the DoD OIG, 2 congressional committees... and the government's response was to charge him with espionage.
