There is systemic discrimination, racism and bigotry in this country today.

It is directed against small business owners, conservatives, straight, white “cis-males,” Christians, the middle class, firearm owners, traditionalists, those inhabiting flyover country, and Trump supporters. (Reverse intersectionality ensures that those who are members of more than one of these groups face increasing vitriol.) In fact, the only ones not targeted by structural, systemic discrimination and hate speech are leftist elites, certain of their favored identity groups, Antifa, and members of the Black Lives Matter movement (BLM).

Don’t believe it? Think of Affirmative Action, race-based admissions policies, IRS harassment of conservative groups and individuals, Hollywood’s near ubiquitous portrayal of white businessmen and Christians as deeply flawed or downright evil, and late-night “comedians” ceaseless (and humorless) attacks on all things Trumpian/Republican. For starters.

This article gets it exactly right. There is systemic bigotry and bias in this country. It is directed at flyover heartland Americans, Christians, gun owners, small business persons, conservatives regardless of our race. The bi coastal elites along with their big tech social media, the lamestream media, academia, Hollywood, and secular progressives engage in it and fan the flames of bigotry, bias, and hate.

Identity politics is the bane of a free and open society where comity, civility, tolerance, and true diversity are treasured and upheld.

The OP has made many good points. Name calling and shaming has replaced open intelligent discussion and honest opinions. The media is a perfect example.

It's kind of funny how people that face discrimination are dismissed with "playing the race card" but it doesn't apply to when the majority group claims it. All of sudden, it's an issue.

That much, I'll grant you. Too many people use knee-jerk labels for their fellow Americans, and the media just blatantly goes with whatever is sensational enough to boost ratings. Even the venerable okd Wall Street Journal has taken to publishing mean-spirited hit pieces.

Disgusting, IMO. I'm going to start a thread on this one.

Sorry your life is such a struggle. Being so oppressed you must be able to have empathy for other groups that have been oppressed, right?

Most Liberals would laugh at the idea of "privileged groups" being oppressed. To some degree they are right -- reverse racism is uncommon.

On the other hand, any male victim of DV who is treated as the abuser or any man who loses his career over an unsubstantiated accusation would understand that reverse discrimination can and does happen.

That isn't discrimination. That is a false accusation. False accusations happen to people from all walks of life, white, black, men, women, conservative, liberal, straight, gay and on and on.

"Reverse discrimination" is a misnomer. It's ALL discrimination.

The fact that accused men lose careers without the proof of guilt IS discrimination. The fact that male DV victims are more likely to be arrested then helped IS discrimination.

LOL! The poor white males in flyover country. They only have 2-3 times, sometimes 20-times the voting power of those hated liberals in coastal states, but they are SO oppressed by the majority (which they call mob rule). Priceless.

In Chicago, try to compete for a contract with a minority-owned business. Most small business owners register their businesses under their wives’ names.
Why do you think people go through all these unnecessary hoops to make their businesses minority-owned on paper? According to Chicago laws, all contracts are awarded to minority business owners first, and non-minority owned business is always at the end of the line.

Discrimination is discrimination, no matter how much you sugar coat it. The link above is for Chicago procurement services, they certify minority owned businesses. That certificate is then used to get in front of the line when the city needs to fulfill some contracts.
If that’s not racism, then I don’t know what is!

Awww. Maybe someday a White Christian male will be elected to Congress, or made a Supreme Court Judge, or ... and I know this is just
a dream ... be elected President. I know that is a bit of stretch given the incredible discrimination that White Christian Males have
had to endure over the years - but hang there - someday your dream will become reality.

    WTF.

The link you provided doesn't say anything about minority owned businesses going to front of the line when the city needs to fulfill some contracts. I'm not saying it doesn't happen but your link doesn't show that it does.

That model is in place because minority-owned business were not getting a fair chance to compete for contracts.

If you are a victim of DV and get arrested as a perpetrator, the fact that most of the government is male will console you.

Any given man has much higher chance of being a victim of abuse or being blacklisted over an unsubstantiated accusation then a chance of being in Congress, Senate, or Supreme Court.

Perhaps Affirmative Action is justified. Women and Minorities should be helped in areas where they are/were disadvantaged.

But the issues I mention -- like arresting male victims of DV are examples of extreme injustice.

DV? Please spell out that acronym. Sorry, it isn't familiar to me and googling it gets too many odd results.
