Democrats failed to counter the Republican con. Their bad. The yo-yos in Fairfax, VA are dishonest radicals. They're pushing lies instead of getting at the real problems with public education.
And you think someone who won’t use a little help for their kids would use a full-scale private school ride wisely?
If they pulled it off, Republicans would strike a mighty blow against the major socialist enterprise in the country.
Oh, I see. You have no patriotism to any country. You're dedication is a fly-by-night thing. Whichever way the wind blows.... that's where you put your loyalty. How shallow. Alexander Graham Bell was an American citizen in Massachusetts. Banting? Now THERE is a household name! LOLOL... its ok... you're Canadian... you have to settle for less. I took a cruise to Alaska once. It started in Vancouver in June. It was snowing.
The CITIZENS in Fairfax were exerting their rights as parents... and WON! YAY AMERICA! BAN CRT! YAY VOUCHERS!
Of course, why didn’t I think of that? Socialist Party A and Socialist Party B duking it out to buy the most votes. Brilliant.
Weak curriculum for average students, grossly inadequate salaries for STEM instructors, poor salaries for teachers generally, lack of school discipline, weak managers, unmotivated students (there are many reasons for this), and inadequate funding of public schools in poor neighborhoods. K-12 education is socialist (collective ownership and production) and suffers from the usual problems facing socialist enterprises. They're great at wasting money. There's much more, especially about how schools operate and how students learn.
Well, you’re wrong. I just resent the idea that parents wouldn’t take advantage of low dollar vouchers to help their children get a better education. That’s an insult to the determination of those parents. In fact, I believe parents would be more concerned to do what it takes to get the best bang for the buck if a large part of the investment is their own. People spend their own money more wisely than they spend free money from the state.
School was so much better when I was growing up. It wasn't easy, but it was simple. Go to grammar school. Study hard. Play sports. Keep working on getting "all A's". Go to high school. Study hard, play sports. Keep working on "all A's". Set your sights on a name-brand college and work hard for admission. Get into college and take meaningful courses like math, science and engineering. Study hard and play sports. Then, after you graduated, get a good job with a name brand company. Work hard. Get a Master's Degree. Buy a car. Marry. Have kids. Buy a home. Save for the kids' educations and your retirement. See the kids off to college. Help them with their weddings. Retire. Buy a jacuzzi and a walk-in tub. Grow old and happy with your spouse. This all used to be common knowledge. Everyone did it. Now there's some sort of fungus that seems to prevent it.
This is in 2020 dollars... No, it's reality. Families with a couple of school kids typically can't afford five figures per year for each child.
I disagree, several young black single mothers in Connecticut for whom $2000 or so would help them enough to get kids out of the public schools they’re in right now.
The world I described is open to all.Not my problem or your if tere are bums in the world. I had a West Point roommate born and raised in a urine smelling tenement in Spanish Harlem. No dad around.Mom a seamstress. He did what I wrote and he's an MD today. Another roommate, the son of a coal miner, is a retired Colonel today. So many losers want to blame society for what they don't have instead of looking in the mirror and seeing WHY they don't have it.
Income is a function of the parents managing their lives rightly or wrongly. You think successful people just tripped over a banana peel and ended up with an Engineering Degree earning six figures? Or your doctor just got drunk one night and woke up with an MD? Poor widdle wictims... baaaaaaa!!!! sob!!!!
Your comment is a disgusting personal attack to coverup your unwillingness to address issues. Bell moved invented the phone in Canada. https://www.cbc.ca/archives/topic/canada-says-hello-the-first-century-of-the-telephone https://www.novascotia.com/see-do/attractions/alexander-graham-bell-national-historic-site/1562 So, you don't know who invented insulin. Six million Americans use it. Like I said, I added Canadian citizenship (born and raised in Southern California). It doesn't snow in Vancouver in June. The record low for June is 39°F. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vancouver
You must secretly love government-run schools because a cheapo voucher will undoubtedly result in the vast majority of parents sticking with the public schools. "Several young black single mothers" ... not even good anecdotal evidence.
