What law says corporations must make their property available to the government? (National emergency for things like aircraft to transport troops doesn't count)

    I wish that was true.

I want the government to be able to do this, but it can't.

And when the tides turn, and the censorship prevents voicing support for agendas you align with? You would still be ok with it?

Corporations are by and far owned by single individuals and not publicly traded companies. i.e. small business.

Why wouldn't they be protected by the first amendment.

This discussion is just more proof of how the left hates freedom... free speech here... China Virus restrictions are another example.

Then facebook is protected by the first amendment. They have a right to make a statement by deciding what is appropriate for people to say on their property.

    I don't like it either.

The First Amendment does not protect violators of the First Amendment.

What does NYC generate? Finance, high technology, real estate, insurance, and health care.....WEALTH! Yes, "economic powerhouse" status is measured in MONEY. Why do you think 80% of Americans live in these metro areas? Because they have JOBS.

The data is what it is. You don't have to agree with it.

What he is doing is very much dictating aka using authoritarian government to force private companies to make their property available for public use. Why stop at forcing them to broadcast Republican propaganda? How about everything else that is being moderated? Violence, profanity, porn, and all the other stuff you see in republican social media? Should they be forced to stop ALL moderation?

IMO the republican party made a big mistake abandoning conservatism. Now they are lost and will support anything, even these kinds of government overreaches. Not being able to think for themselves, they can be brought into supporting just about anything as can be seen here. I think its time to create a new conservative party. I'd definitely sign up.

Ok... let's agree to disagree. After a career in the Army I went to work in defense high tech. Yes, I understand that paper pushers and beancounters are essential to any industrial effort. I just can't muster the same respect for them as the players that actually get things done. I always found the beancounters and paper pushers to be more of an impediment than an asistance. I grew up in New York City... an entire city of beancounters and paper pushers. Perhaps that's why I left and found my future elsewhere. In my view, money isn't everything, although I admit it is important.

My greatest achievement are not about money. I raised a son that was motivated and able to graduate Cornell. That I could finance it is secondary. I had a General call me once saying that I motivated him to go to West Point in the first place when he was in the Basic Training Training Company I Commanded. Money can't buy the sort of satisfaction I derive from that. I can go on and on. But you get my drift.

Obviously you view anything that doesn't worship the Democratic Party and lovingly caress their leaders as "Republican Propaganda". We get this. Your closed mind is all too typical.

No one is forcing anyone to publish propaganda, just views that you don't subscribe to. I am in no way brainwashed, I just like FACTS. And I like all sides with FACTS to be known, I am a firm believer in the freedom for all sides with FACTS to be free to voice them.

Facebook cannot violate the 1st amendment. There is nothing that Facebook could do that would violate the first amendment.

Since they are protected (unlike printed media) by specific, favored legislation granted by the federal government, they are arguably subject to the same laws as their patron.

Yea man, the aliens built the skyscrapers and subways, and they also maintain them, run hospitals and them while everyone else counts beans. You know as little about New York as you do about Texas even though you have lived in both places.

    Where are New Yorkers employed
    - Construction
    - Trade transportation and utilities
    - Information technology
    - Finance activities
    - Professional and Business services
    - Health care
    - Leisure and hospitality

    Yea, bu-bue now.

Democrats? No, I don't vote Dem and nore do I support most their views. You? You think Abbott did this for Dems? LOL.

I WISH there was a conservative party but there isn't, and the Republican one don't even pretend to be one anymore.

Correct. Only Congress can violate it.

Which legislation are you talking about? I just want to make sure we are talking about the same thing. Section 230 protection came into existence in 1996 or 1997 i believe. It had overwhelming bi-partisan support congress. Is that what you are talking about?

Its pretty arrogant to sit in judgement about others. You should grow up a bit. Wait... you're a Democrat. You can't help it.

I know a lot about New York having been born and raised there. My dad worked for Con Ed. I find it kind of funny that in your list of NON-BEANCOUNTERS you place
    - Trade transportation and utilities
    - Information technology
    - Finance activities
    - Professional and Business services

Those are serious non-movers and shakers. I live in a world of Engineers, Scientists, doctors, fabricators, and such. Those who can hold the things they do in their hands, not just display them on a page of Excel. Your friends produce pages of Excel data... mine produce lasers, vehicles, aircraft, "drones", food, ... you know... REAL STUFF.

It does not put a gov't boot on the throat of a single private company. Again you resort to putting words in the mouth of your opponent and then calling them "Ignorant and in denial" .. when it is you who suffers from both having no understanding of the subject matter - and then warping into made up never never land - as soon as you come across something which conflicts with belief.

I would suggest that it is YOU that do not understand. First, you sound extremely young. Second, let's look at education... the beancounters and paper pushers take accounting, psychology, art, philosophy and "women's studies". My friends take Physics, calculaus, Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Electro-Magnetic Field Theory and such.

No, I am not a Dem, but then again I already told you so. Why the dishonesty? Why the need to misrepresent others in every post?

How can you not be aware that building such products require lot of research and lot of Excels etc are produced? What's with the jealous attitude against people who work with their brains as opposed to hands? Can't you see both kinds of people are needed?

What the frick are you talking about .. and I don't need friends that took Physics Calculus Thermodynamics - because I took them .. but none helps (sans a bit of math) - with the question at hand.

What is it that I do not understand ? What private company does legislation prohibiting SM Oligopolies (who are public companies)- from partisan censorship harm - how is a law that does not apply to any private companies - the Gov't putting boot on neck of private companies.

Then who created the mandate and who will enforce it? Space aliens?

No, it was the GOVERNMENT, - your old and trusted friend.

Clearly, you don't understand the law, or how it applies. Try harder. These responses are just plain uninformed.
