In that case, shouldn't they be pledging allegiance to Spain?

They shouldn't make them pledge allegiance to anywhere, less of all Mexico.

I did it when I was a kid. Literally it meant nothing to me. If anything doing that every freakin' day in school just soured the whole idea taking away any power it may have had.

No kidding! Or pledge allegiance to any flag at all if they don't want to. That's a part of our right to free expression, which is covered under the 1st Amendment. Hell, we don't even force our atheists to recite the Pledge of Allegiance because it says "under God" in it.

Exactly. This is how those La Raza scumbag taco vendors try to indoctrinate young kids into accepting Mexico as a part of the United States or some crap like that. This stuff goes all the way back to Sesame Street. They indoctrinate under the guise of "multi-culturism".

its already happening and americans don't mind, the disney channel has witches of waverly place with selena gomez and then theres dora the explorer,

soon it will be required to say the pledge in spanish so that americans can learn another foreign language and have better relations with mexicans around their neighborhoods

Hey, liberalminority, they play the Canadian national anthem at U.S. hockey games whenever one of the teams are from Canada. It is not a requirement that they do so; they do it out of respect for the visiting team. Requiring our schoolchildren to recite the Pledge of Allegiance in Spanish will not make better relations between our two countries, it will only make it worse when the parents find out what their kids are being indoctrinated with. Even moreso after your kind call those parents "racists" for not accepting the burrito hustlers' cornfed culture.

Canadians are just Americans who live in a British colony and like to pretend that they have their own country. It's cute, so we let them get away with a lot of crap like that.

Liberal infiltration into our higher education which has seeped into our primary education.

    This from a conservative?

For one thing, this sounds like a typical GOP made up story, at best based on making up "facts.":fart:

Finally, for a repub to go to a re-education camp, liberal or otherwise, implies they had some sort of education to start with. You can't RE-educate someone who never got an education in the first place.

By the way - this was in Texas? Who's governor down there?

WTF does this have to do with anything? And how do you determine "not doing much?" In what country? There or here?

    Great point!

Some of us do mind. There is nothing wrong with respecting our neighbors, nothing at all, but we only pledge allegiance to ONE country and that is the USA.

LOL - we barely even have immigration laws, isn't there like 30 something million illegals in this country? Immigration laws my ass - obviously, something ain't working.

I do despair of EVER doing a parody of the Right Wing MORE hilarious and absurd than the self-parodies they do of themselves!

Yeah, this little skit teaching a couple Spanish words just make those kids lay down for the Mexicans!

What did this dumb girl think happens in Spanish class.

Follow up question...if you do say the Mexican pledge does that make you Mexican? Do you lose citizenship? Would she have been deported? Americans are such whiney babies. Grow up.

The complaint of this thread is soooo inane.

Kids are reciting something to LEARN it.

I suppose reading from books out loud means you are ACTUALLY beliving and pledging the words you read!

Think of all the kids that have foresworn their family name reading Shakepeare!

Actually it was the Chinese that have done more for this country. Go read how the railroads were built back in the 1800's to early 1900's. Most of them were Chinese laborers.

I just realized I actually know the words to the fist couple stanzas of the French National anthem from french classes back in 6th 7th & 8th grade in the 60s.

So let me get this straight, a Spanish teacher assigned a school lesson of saying the Mexican Pledge in Spanish during SPanish class, a girl who voluntarily took said SPanish class refuses to complete the assignment and then cries when she gets a poor grade for doing so?

LOL (*)(*)(*)(*) that stupid little girl and anyone who supports her. 26 years ago I took HS French, and guess what, one of our class assignments was reciting the French Pledge, in French. Didn't mean I was a Frenchie all the sudden. Simply meant I completed my required assignment.

Oh and for all you dumb dumbs who think this girl was making some sort of stand. When people make stands they accept the results of THEIR decisions. They don't whine about what happens to them based on THEIR choices the way this little girl did LOL
